Sunreach and the World Tree are separate late-game areas in Palworld 1.0. Sunreach comes first. The World Tree opens later, after you finish Sunreach's tower mission and capture a legendary Pal called Panthalus.

You cannot fly from the surface to Sunreach. You also cannot open the World Tree gate with normal exploration. Follow the story order below and speak to the required characters when the game sends you back to them.

Before You Go to Sunreach

Clear Feybreak Tower by defeating Bjorn and Bastigor, a level 60 fight. Bastigor is an Ice Pal and is weak to Fire. The tower sits in a cold region, so wear cold-resistant armor before making the trip.

Sunreach enemies begin around level 60, and the main tower fight is level 70. A player level in the high 60s gives you more room for mistakes. Bring a strong flying mount, good spheres, repaired weapons, ammunition, food, and cold protection.

  • Required progress: defeat Bjorn and Bastigor at Feybreak Tower.
  • Recommended level: high 60s before completing the full Sunreach sequence.
  • Useful supplies: cold-resistant armor, a flying mount, high-tier spheres, ammunition, food, and healing items.

How to Enter Sunreach

  1. Return to Feybreak Tower: use the fast-travel point near the entrance after the boss is defeated.
  2. Climb to the top: the Sunreach entrance is above the normal tower arena.
  3. Use the portal: interact with the altar at the summit to arrive on the floating islands.

Unlock every Sunreach fast-travel point you pass. The islands are separated by open air. Flying is useful, and purple transport orbs can move you between sections when the route is not safe to cross normally.

Sunreach has gaps between its islands. Use a flying mount or the purple transport points and activate fast travel as you move.

Disable the Six Defense Modules

A protective barrier blocks the Tower of the Azure Covenant. Six defense modules around Sunreach keep it active. Each module sends a visible beam into the sky, so look for the beams and mark the locations while traveling.

Interact with all six modules. There is no separate puzzle at each one. Fast travel reduces the return trips, and a mount helps you avoid spending ammunition on every wild Pal between the modules.

Open the map after each module and confirm that the objective updated before moving on. Sunreach has several levels of floating terrain, so a marker can look close while sitting above or below you. Use the beam and the nearby path to find the correct height.

After the sixth module is disabled, the barrier around the tower disappears. Enter and prepare for Auri and Shaolong at level 70. Shaolong is Dragon and Water, so Ice and Electric attacks are useful.

Speak With Auri After the Fight

Do not leave as soon as the tower battle ends. Speak with Auri. Her conversation starts the Panthalus part of the story and points you toward the next location.

At the Panthalus area, an NPC asks you to collect four giant remains from locations near earlier towers. Follow the mission markers, collect all four, then return to your base and craft the Echoing Flute.

Capture Panthalus

Take the Echoing Flute back to the Panthalus Shrine and use it to begin the fight. Panthalus is level 70 and has two phases. Its head crystal takes extra damage, so aim there when you have a clear shot.

Move away from the large wave attack during the first phase. Later, avoid standing directly under Panthalus when it uses a body slam. Save your strongest Pal Spheres for the end.

You must capture Panthalus. Defeating it without throwing a sphere does not complete the requirement. Reduce its health carefully and stop using high-damage attacks when it is close to being knocked out.

Open the World Tree Gate

The World Tree contains the final story area, new materials, and Radiant Gems used for Awakening.
  1. Add Panthalus to your active party: keeping it only in the Palbox is not enough.
  2. Travel to the marked World Tree entrance: follow the new story marker after completing the Panthalus mission.
  3. Use the entrance terminal: the gate opens when Panthalus is present in your party.

The World Tree is a level 70-to-80 endgame area. Activate fast travel as soon as possible and do not spend every new material immediately. Radiant Gems, World Tree Holy Water, and Paloxite have specific late-game uses.

The final Zenara and Astralym battle is level 80 and has no listed elemental weakness. Finish the other tower bosses and follow the remaining main missions before expecting the Sealed Sanctum fight to open.
