Radiant Gems in Palworld are used to craft elemental Awakening Crystals. Do not try to use a gem directly from your inventory. Bring 50 gems of the required element and 10 World Tree Holy Water to the Ancient Workbench, craft the crystal, then use that crystal on the Pal you want to strengthen.
Awakening is an endgame upgrade. Finish the Pal’s species, passive skills, talents, active skills, and normal progression first. The materials are expensive enough that a temporary breeding result or base worker is usually a poor target.

What to Do With Radiant Gems in Palworld
- 1. Choose the finished combat Pal you want to awaken.
- 2. Identify the element required by its Awakening Crystal recipe.
- 3. Collect 50 Radiant Gems of that same element.
- 4. Collect 10 World Tree Holy Water.
- 5. Craft the matching Awakening Crystal at the Ancient Workbench.
- 6. Use the crystal from your inventory and select the Pal.
Awakening Cost Per Pal
- Radiant Gems: 50 gems of the element required by the crystal.
- World Tree Holy Water: 10 bottles.
- Crafting station: Ancient Workbench.
- Technology requirement: level 67 and five Technology Points for the workbench.
- Full six-Pal team: 300 Radiant Gems and 60 World Tree Holy Water if every Pal needs one crystal.
The recipe is element-locked. Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Ground, Ice, Dragon, Dark, and Neutral have separate Radiant Gems. Check the crystal recipe before starting a long farm so you do not collect the wrong type.
How to Unlock the Ancient Workbench
The Ancient Workbench unlocks at Technology level 67 and costs five Technology Points. The current 1.0 recipe uses 50 Soralite Ingots, five AI Cores, and 20 Bio Batteries.
A Pal must operate the station. The player cannot complete Ancient Workbench recipes by hand, so assign a strong Handiwork Pal and keep the route to the station clear.

Where to Get Radiant Gems
Radiant Gems drop from Pals in the World Tree. Catching and defeating them can both contribute, so bring enough spheres to turn the same route into Paldeck progress.
The gem element normally follows the defeated Pal’s element, but mixed-element creatures and changing drop tables can make a route less obvious. Check the item preview and your recipe after the first few drops. Once you confirm the correct target, repeat a dense route instead of changing enemies every few minutes.
Wrong Radiant Gem elements? Check your game version
The September 7 update to version 1.0.4 fixed incorrect or overly biased Radiant Gem elements from wild Pals in the World Tree area. If your results came from an older version, update before judging the route. The fix does not specify a guaranteed gem count or a new drop percentage; check the drops against the crystal recipe you need.

- 1. Choose one Pal and one element before entering the World Tree.
- 2. Carry repair materials, food, ammo, and high-level spheres.
- 3. Mark a dense route with several enemies that drop the needed gem.
- 4. Catch missing Pals and defeat duplicates when speed matters more than Paldeck progress.
- 5. Stop at 50 gems for the first target instead of spreading materials across several unfinished crystals.
Where to Get World Tree Holy Water
World Tree Holy Water is another World Tree material. Teafant Springs inside the zone are a direct source, and current farming routes also use Ice enemies with drop-boosting Partner Skills. Save at least ten bottles for each planned crystal.
Holy Water is also used in other late-game recipes. Put the Awakening supply in separate storage or carry it when crafting so an automatic production queue does not consume the amount you reserved.
How to Awaken a Pal Step by Step
Finish the Build First
Breed the species and passive combination you actually want to keep. Improve talents, choose the active skills, level the Pal, and finish normal upgrades. Awakening amplifies a finished build; it does not repair a bad one.

Craft the Correct Crystal
Open the Ancient Workbench recipe list and choose the crystal that matches the Pal. Add 50 matching Radiant Gems and 10 World Tree Holy Water, then assign a Handiwork Pal to finish the craft.
Use the Crystal Carefully
Move the intended Pal into a clearly named party or box slot before using the item. Activate the crystal from your inventory and confirm the selected Pal. Do not rush this screen when several copies of the same species have similar levels.
Check the Result Before Farming Again
Use the awakened Pal in the tower, raid, arena, or World Tree content it was built for. Decide whether the gain changes the fight before committing another 50 gems to the next party member.
Which Pal Should You Awaken First?
Start with the combat Pal that appears in the hardest content you play every week. A raid carry, difficult tower counter, Arena Legend pick, or World Tree specialist gives the rare materials a clear purpose.
- Good first target: a finished combat Pal with the passives, talents, and role you intend to keep.
- Good later target: a support or specialist that stays in your main six-Pal rotation.
- Poor target: a breeding step, temporary mount, unfinished copy, or Pal kept only for base work.

Why Base Workers Are a Bad First Choice
Awakening is built for combat strength. It does not replace work-suitability levels, Handbooks, good pathing, food, or base assignments. Spending 50 gems on a worker does not automatically make Handiwork, Mining, or Gathering faster.

Awakening vs. Other Pal Upgrades
Awakening vs. Condensation
Condensation uses duplicate Pals to raise rank and improve the Partner Skill. Awakening uses a crafted elemental crystal. They are separate systems and can support the same final Pal.
Awakening vs. Pal Souls
Pal Souls improve selected stats through the Statue of Power. Awakening is another permanent layer. Finish the cheaper, easier upgrades before spending World Tree materials.
Awakening vs. Mutation
Mutation happens during breeding and can create a special egg result. Awakening is a deliberate item upgrade applied after the Pal already exists. A strong endgame Pal can benefit from both, but mutation should be settled before the crystal is used.
Awakening vs. Better Gear
A stronger player weapon, armor set, accessory, or elemental counter may improve a difficult fight more than Awakening one Pal. Compare the bottleneck before farming hundreds of gems.

- Trying to use gems directly: Radiant Gems must become an Awakening Crystal first.
- Farming every element: choose one Pal and finish one 50-gem set.

- Spending all Holy Water: other World Tree recipes also consume it.
