Palworld 1.0 raises the player level cap to 80 and changes the experience curve. The fastest player progress comes from completing different activities across the map. Repeatedly defeating weak Pals in one area gives less useful progress than captures, exploration, missions, and bosses near the player's level.

Player XP and Pal XP need separate plans. The player receives large Paldeck and exploration bonuses. Party Pals benefit more from combat, crafting payouts, food, accessories, and Partner Skills made for Pal experience.

Use the Five-Capture Bonus

Version 1.0 reduces the capture requirement from 12 copies of a species to five. The first five captures give bonus experience, and the amount remains useful as the player level rises.

  • Watch the sphere display: aim a Pal Sphere at a wild Pal to see how many copies have already been caught.
  • Stop after five: extra copies can still help with breeding and condensation, but they no longer complete another first-capture bonus.
  • Change regions: each area adds species that can provide five new bonuses instead of another fight with a completed species.
  • Use Mercy equipment: Pal Tamer's Glasses, a Ring of Mercy, or a Pal with Mercy Hit prevents accidental knockouts.

Catch five of each available species, then move to a region with new Paldeck entries.

Level the Player Through Each Region

  • Levels 1 to 20: finish tutorial missions, activate nearby fast travel, build a working base, and catch five common Pals in the starting islands.
  • Levels 20 to 40: rotate through Moonless Shore, Bamboo Groves, Twilight Dunes, Verdant Brook, and nearby dungeons.
  • Levels 40 to 60: use Mount Obsidian, the Astral Mountains, Sakurajima, field bosses, and unfinished Paldeck bonuses.
  • Levels 60 to 70: clear activities around Feybreak and Sunreach while replacing equipment that has fallen behind.
  • Levels 70 to 80: use World Tree exploration, high-level captures, missions, dungeons, and bosses that the current team can defeat reliably.

The listed regions are a progression guide, not a rule. If normal enemies take several minutes or defeat the party quickly, return to a lower region and finish its unused captures and activities.

Collect Exploration and Boss XP

Palworld 1.0 rewards exploration more directly. Activate every Great Eagle Statue, enter new areas, clear enemy bases, complete dungeons, and follow main and sub-missions. These rewards also open faster travel and useful crafting materials.

Defeat field Alphas and tower bosses when their level matches the party. A boss that can be cleared quickly is better for repeated experience than a harder fight with a high chance of failure. Use the boss-order guide when story progress blocks a region.

Level Party Pals Separately

A newly caught Pal can reach the player level much faster with three Pal XP boosts. Place one Omascul in the party, equip a Growth Acceleration Bell, and use an experience food before the reward arrives.

  • Omascul: Masquerade Dance gives 40 percent party Pal XP at its first rank and reaches 80 percent when fully condensed. Multiple Omascul effects do not stack.
  • Growth Acceleration Bell: adds Pal EXP Up level 3 while equipped by the player.
  • Experience food: feed Seafood Salad or Fried Gloopie Balls to the Pal being trained. Eat the food as the player when player XP also matters.

Large crafting queues provide party experience and can raise low-level Pals while the player manages the base.

Use a Fast Late-Game Boss

After preparing the Pal XP setup, repeat the highest tower fight that the main combat Pal can finish quickly. The Pal being trained only needs to remain in the party. Fast clears produce more experience per minute than a difficult final fight with long resets.

An optimized level 10 Pal can reach the mid-60s from one high-level tower clear at the normal experience setting. Reaching 80 may take three or four final-tower wins with a complete setup. Results change with clear time, food, Omascul rank, and world settings.

Use Base Crafting for Low-Level Pals

Crafting gives party experience and works well when several new Pals need early levels. Queue useful spheres, ammunition, ingots, food, or building materials instead of making items that will be discarded.

A repeatable Pal Sphere and Cryogenic Crusher method can return the Paldium Fragment used by each basic sphere while the production work gives experience. It is slower than a strong tower clear, but it runs at the base and helps an entire low-level party.

Common Leveling Mistakes

  • Remaining in one starting area: move when the five-capture bonuses are complete and enemies are far below the player.
  • Choosing only the hardest boss: measure the complete fight and reset time, not the level printed above the arena.
  • Using several Omascul: the Partner Skill does not stack. Condense one and keep the other party slots available.
  • Forgetting sphere production: capture leveling stops when the correct sphere tier is unavailable.
  • Changing world XP without checking the result: private-world multipliers are optional and can make the player outlevel whole equipment tiers.

Keep the normal world setting when the goal is to follow the full progression. Increase it only when a private group wants to recover an old level or train replacement Pals with less repetition.
