Palworld combines several games into one. You explore a large world, gather materials, build bases, fight enemies, and catch creatures called Pals. Those Pals can travel with you, help in combat, or work at your base while you are away.

Version 1.0 is a good place to begin because Pocketpair, the Japanese studio behind Palworld, reorganized the main story and added new areas, creatures, and systems. Returning players will recognize the basic routine, but old guides can now contain information that no longer matches the game.

Use this page as a starting point. You do not need to learn every system before leaving the first beach. Pick the guide that matches your current problem and come back when the game asks you to do something new.

Start With the Guide You Need

  • New player: read the beginner guide for world settings, early materials, first captures, Technology Points, and a simple first base.
  • Better team: use the best Pals guide to choose useful creatures for combat, travel, and base jobs without following one rigid tier list.
  • Base problems: open the base guide for location advice, storage placement, food, SAN, work suitability, and easier Pal movement.
  • Returning player: check the 1.0 changes below before trusting an older route, breeding chart, base ranking, or work-suitability list.

What Changed in Palworld 1.0

Palworld left early access on July 10, 2026. The full release added 72 Pals, bringing the official total to 287. It also opened Sunreach and the World Tree, raised the level cap to 80, and connected the main missions and Tower Boss fights to a clearer story route.

Base management changed too. Work suitability now reaches ten levels, and Pocketpair rebalanced the jobs that many Pals can perform. Storage, hauling, crafting menus, and fixed work assignments received improvements. A Pal that was considered the best worker in an old guide may no longer hold the same position.

Palworld still uses real-time combat, but your Pal choice, equipment, and the enemy's element can change how difficult a fight feels.

The late game now includes Awakening and Mutation. Awakening uses materials from the World Tree to strengthen a Pal. Mutation can produce a stronger result through breeding. Both are important later, but neither should control the choices you make during the first few hours.

A Safe Order for Your First Sessions

Begin by collecting wood, stone, fiber, food, and enough materials for Pal Spheres. Catch several early Pals instead of using every resource on one difficult target. A mixed group gives you more combat options and more workers when you build the Palbox that creates your first base.

Keep the first base small. Add beds, a feed box, storage, a workbench, and a basic food supply before building a large house. Once the base can replace your food, tools, and Pal Spheres, you can spend more time opening fast-travel points and following the main missions.

Different regions bring stronger enemies, harsher temperatures, and Pals with new elements and work skills.

Tower Bosses, dangerous regions, breeding, and the World Tree can wait. Palworld does not punish you for taking time to improve your equipment or move a base. A short preparation trip is usually more useful than repeating a fight with the same weak gear.

Palworld Terms Worth Knowing

  • Pal Sphere: the item used to catch a weakened Pal. Better spheres are needed as targets become stronger.
  • Palbox: the structure that creates a base, stores your Pals, and lets you choose which Pals work there.
  • Work suitability: the job icons shown for each Pal, including Kindling, Watering, Handiwork, Mining, Planting, and Transporting.
  • Partner Skill: a special ability connected to a Pal. Some work automatically, while others need a crafted item.
  • SAN: a Pal's mental condition at the base. Low SAN can slow work and eventually cause illness.
  • Technology Points: points used to unlock tools, structures, weapons, Pal equipment, and other recipes as you level up.

Guides We Will Add Next

The next part of this hub will cover breeding, boss order, Sunreach, the World Tree, and Awakening. Those subjects need their own pages because they involve more preparation and more version-specific details than a short introduction can handle.

For now, focus on a stable food supply, reliable Pal Spheres, a base that can produce materials, and a team that covers more than one element. You will understand the larger systems faster once those basic needs stop interrupting every trip.
