GTA 5 has more map activities than the 100% counter asks you to finish. The game tracks 50 Spaceship Parts, 50 Letter Scraps, 50 Stunt Jumps, 50 Under the Bridge challenges, 15 Knife Flights, underwater collections, and several extras added to newer versions. Trying to clear every icon and hidden item in one trip wastes time because the requirements, unlock conditions, and useful vehicles are different.
Use the pause menu under Stats to check the in-game 100% list. Rockstar's official GTA V manual also includes an interactive map of Los Santos and Blaine County with neighborhoods and points of interest. Keep a separate checklist for hidden collectibles because the normal map does not place every item in front of you.
Pixel Twelve's GTA V 100% Completion Checklist covers the full percentage requirement. This page focuses on collectible counts, where each search belongs on the map, and how to avoid repeating the same route.
What You Need for 100% Completion
- Spaceship Parts: Collect all 50 after Franklin meets Omega and starts Far Out. The pieces are spread across rooftops, storm drains, desert structures, the coast, and remote parts of Blaine County. Finishing the set completes Omega's chain and unlocks the Space Docker.
- Letter Scraps: Collect all 50 scraps to reveal the confession connected to Leonora Johnson's murder. These are also spread across the full map, including alleys, rooftops, industrial areas, hills, and the countryside.
- Stunt Jumps: GTA 5 has 50 total, but only 25 are required for the 100% counter. Completing all 50 is still needed for the Show Off achievement or trophy. Use Franklin and a fast, controllable car, then save before jumps that end near water or heavy traffic.
- Under the Bridge: Only 25 of the 50 bridge flights are required for 100%. Completing all 50 Under the Bridge challenges and all 15 Knife Flights is tied to Close Shave. A small helicopter gives you more room under low bridges than a large aircraft.
- Knife Flights: Only 8 of the 15 are required for 100%. Complete them with a small plane and use Trevor if his higher starting flight skill makes the controls more comfortable.
Submarine Pieces, Nuclear Waste, peyote plants, monkey mosaics, and some other collections are not part of the basic 100% requirement. They still unlock side-mission endings, money, vehicles, transformations, or separate achievements depending on the version. Check whether you are playing Legacy, Enhanced, or an older console release before following a list for version-specific extras.

A Map Route That Avoids Constant Backtracking
- Central and west Los Santos: Start around Downtown, Rockford Hills, Vinewood, Del Perro, Vespucci, and the canals. Clear nearby Letter Scraps and Spaceship Parts together, then mark completed stunt jumps before moving east.
- South and industrial Los Santos: Group La Mesa, Cypress Flats, the port, Elysian Island, and Los Santos International Airport. A helicopter helps with roofs and bridge checks, while a motorcycle or sports car is better for jumps.
- Vinewood Hills and the western countryside: Sweep the hills, Tongva Valley, Great Chaparral, and the roads toward Fort Zancudo in one trip. Use an off-road vehicle for dirt access points and keep a helicopter nearby for high ground.
- Grand Senora Desert and Sandy Shores: The open desert makes long sightlines easier, but items are often beside small structures, radio equipment, abandoned buildings, or rocky ground. Search this region before driving north so the middle of the map is not left unfinished.
- Mount Chiliad and Paleto Bay: Finish the northern roads, forest, sawmill area, mountain paths, and the coast together. Bring a helicopter or off-road vehicle and save before landing on narrow ridges.
- Ocean and underwater routes: Leave Submarine Pieces and Nuclear Waste for a dedicated session after the required missions and equipment are available. Sonar and Trackify are easier to follow when you are not mixing underwater work with land collectibles.

Save after each region, update the checklist immediately, and take a screenshot of the last completed marker if you are using a second-screen map. When one item is missing, search the current region again before crossing San Andreas. Most late cleanup becomes difficult because the player remembers the item but not whether the game registered it.

Collectibles are easier once the campaign has unlocked the useful characters, aircraft, docks, and side missions, so there is no need to force every search during the opening hours.
