GTA 5 Money and Stock Market Guide

This guide is for GTA 5 story mode. The useful money loop is simple: earn cash through missions and heists, keep clean manual saves, then use the in-game stock market when a mission creates a repeatable stock-market opportunity.

Do not treat random money glitches or exploit videos as evergreen advice. They can be patched, platform-specific, or unreliable. The stock market plan below is the stable story-mode route to larger cash totals.

GTA 5 has two in-game stock exchanges that can be opened from the phone browser: LCN Exchange and BAWSAQ. Both let Michael, Franklin, and Trevor buy and sell shares separately.

LCN is the safer market to think of as story-driven. It reacts to mission outcomes and in-game time. BAWSAQ is more online-influenced and can be less predictable for a single player, so check prices before committing.

The practical rule is still buy low, sell high. Use manual saves before major buys, monitor percentage change after the mission, and sell when the price stops climbing instead of waiting for a guaranteed number.

Franklin has five Lester assassination missions. The Hotel Assassination is required for story progress, but the remaining assassination missions are usually best saved until after the main story because each character has more money to invest.

Before a planned stock play, cycle through Michael, Franklin, and Trevor and invest each character separately. After the mission, use sleep or normal time passage to advance the market, then check the stock before selling.

Return percentages vary by platform, version, market behavior, and timing. This guide names the stock direction and timing pattern, but it does not promise a fixed payout.

Stock market money is single-player guidance. GTA Online uses a separate economy, and official Shark Cash Cards apply to GTA Online cash, not Michael, Franklin, or Trevor in story mode.

BAWSAQ access can depend on online services and may behave differently from LCN. If BAWSAQ is unavailable, do not force a risky workaround; use a clean save and stick to the parts of the plan that your game can verify.

Always keep a save from before the investment and mission. If a stock does not move as expected, reload and wait differently rather than chasing losses.
