The Cayo Perico Heist can still be completed solo in GTA Online, but the efficient route in July 2026 is quieter than older speed-run guides suggest. Guards can detect bodies, primary-target values have changed, and repeat target rates now refresh on a weekly schedule. A consistent undetected run is more valuable than forcing a route built for an older update.
Buy the Kosatka from Warstock Cache & Carry for GTA$2,200,000 after meeting Miguel Madrazo in The Music Locker. The first heist setup is free; repeat runs cost GTA$100,000. The Sparrow is useful later, but it is not required to start or finish the heist.
Use the GTA Online Beginner Progression Guide if the submarine would empty your account. The GTA Online Businesses Guide compares the Kosatka with properties that provide steadier income.
Set Up a Reliable Solo Run
Scope the primary target, the drainage tunnel, and useful secondary loot. Solo players cannot normally open the two-keycard gold rooms inside the compound, so plan to fill the bag with exterior cocaine, weed, cash, or one office painting. Cocaine is the strongest common solo pickup, but a convenient full bag is better than crossing the island for a small theoretical gain.
Choose the Longfin when good secondary loot is at the airstrip, main dock, or north dock. It lets you collect outside the compound first and then drive to the drainage tunnel. The Kosatka approach is simpler when you want to enter the drainage tunnel immediately, accept whatever solo loot is available in the office, and leave quickly.
Required equipment: Complete the Cutting Torch, Fingerprint Cloner, and either Plasma Cutter or Safe Code prep, depending on the primary target. Choose one weapon loadout and add suppressors for GTA$5,000. Skip demolition charges when the drainage tunnel is the entry point.
Optional disruption: Armor, weapons, and air-support disruptions are not needed for a clean stealth route. Do them if you expect a loud finale or are still learning guard positions. Each completed disruption makes recovery easier after detection, but it also adds setup time.

Last checked July 2026: Rockstar's Title Update 1.73 notes confirm adjusted primary values and a weekly refresh for target appearance rates, but Rockstar does not publish a complete payout-and-odds table. The exact figures here come from GTA Base's maintained, non-official reference. Repeat-run normal values are GTA$400,000 for Sinsimito Tequila, GTA$560,000 for the Ruby Necklace, GTA$616,000 for Bearer Bonds, and GTA$910,000 for the Pink Diamond. The event-only Panther Statue has no regular value in the current table.
The same July 2026 reference lists first-heist Madrazo Files at GTA$1,100,000. Secondary values vary by stack and bag space, so do not memorize every range. In practical terms, take cocaine first when it is conveniently placed, then weed, artwork, or cash as needed to fill the bag. The office safe adds GTA$18,000 to GTA$99,000 without using bag capacity.
Run the Finale and Protect the Payout
With the Longfin, collect the chosen dock or airstrip loot before entering the compound. Drive offshore, switch to diving gear, and use the drainage tunnel. Inside, avoid unnecessary kills. Patrol routes can pass discovered bodies, and a guard who was harmless in an older route may now trigger the alarm after another patrol reaches the area.
Move toward the office using the least crowded stairs, take the wall safe, and collect an office painting only if it fits the remaining bag space. Complete the fingerprint hack, reach the basement, take the primary target, and leave through the main gate. Killing the personal guards around the office is usually unnecessary for a solo run.

Outside the gate, take the nearby motorcycle, ride southwest past the helicopter area, and jump from the coast. Swim away from the island until the escape completes. This exit avoids another dock fight. If the alarm sounds early, restart rather than losing secondary loot to damage and spending time fighting reinforcements.
The solo Elite Challenge requires a finish under 15 minutes, a full loot bag, no failed hacks, no deaths, and no detection inside the compound. It pays GTA$50,000 on Normal and GTA$100,000 on Hard. Pavel takes 2 percent and the fencing fee takes 10 percent, so the planning-screen gross value is not the final deposit.
After a solo finale, the official cooldown is 144 real minutes. Pavel then contacts you, and the 48-minute window to pay for the next run activates Hard Mode. Hard Mode increases the primary target value by 10 percent. The older advice to wait 72 hours for better target odds is stale after Update 1.73 because target probabilities now refresh weekly.
Compare other repeatable work in Best Solo Activities in GTA Online in 2026, and use the GTA 5 Heists Guide for Story Mode crew and approach decisions. Cayo Perico is still a useful solo option, but its cooldown makes it one part of a wider income rotation rather than a job to restart immediately.
