Big Walk does not need a new gaming PC, but its official requirements are higher than some old placeholder listings suggest. The minimum Windows setup asks for 12 GB of RAM, a 64-bit copy of Windows 10, and a graphics card around the level of a GTX 750 Ti, Radeon R7 370, or Intel Arc A380.
House House has also confirmed native Mac support through Steam. Mac players need Apple silicon and macOS 15, with an M1 listed as the minimum and an M3 recommended.
The specifications below come from the official Steam page. Storage space, performance targets, and Steam Deck compatibility have not been confirmed, so those details should not be guessed before launch.
Big Walk minimum PC requirements
The official minimum Windows requirements are:
- Operating system: Windows 10, 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti with 2 GB, AMD Radeon R7 370 with 2 GB, or Intel Arc A380 with 6 GB
- Storage: Not listed
These are the parts House House considers the starting point for the PC version. Steam does not say what resolution, graphics preset, or frame rate this hardware is expected to deliver.
The graphics requirement is fairly modest by current standards, especially for players with a recent dedicated GPU. The processor requirement is less forgiving than the graphics list may make it look. A PC with an old entry-level CPU should not be assumed to qualify just because its graphics card is fast enough.
Big Walk recommended PC requirements
The official recommended Windows requirements are:
- Operating system: Windows 11, 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 with 8 GB, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT with 8 GB, or Intel Arc A750 with 8 GB
- Storage: Not listed
This is the safer target for anyone building or upgrading a PC specifically for Big Walk. It raises the memory requirement to 16 GB and moves to substantially stronger graphics cards with 8 GB of video memory.
Steam still does not attach a performance promise to this tier. It would be inaccurate to claim that the recommended hardware guarantees 60 frames per second, 1440p, or a specific visual preset until House House publishes that information or the final game can be tested.
Can your PC run Big Walk?
Start by checking four parts of your computer: Windows version, processor, installed RAM, and graphics card. On Windows, open Settings, choose System, and then open About to see the processor, RAM, and system type. The graphics card appears under Display adapters in Device Manager or in the Performance section of Task Manager.
A computer that matches or beats every minimum component should meet the published entry point. Mixed hardware needs a little more care. For example, a modern graphics card does not make up for having less than 12 GB of RAM, and a strong processor does not replace the need for a supported GPU.
Laptop component names can also be misleading. Mobile graphics chips sometimes perform differently from desktop cards with a similar name. If a laptop sits close to the minimum line, waiting for real performance testing after release is safer than assuming an exact match.
How much storage does Big Walk need?
The PC and Mac storage requirement is not listed on Steam as of July 31, 2026. Any website giving an exact computer download size without a direct official source may be using a placeholder or an estimate.
Nintendo lists a 3.8 GB download for the Switch 2 version, but that number should not be copied across to PC or Mac. Different platforms can use different file packaging, compression, updates, and optional data. Keep more free space than the final download size because Steam may need temporary room while installing or patching the game.
This section should be updated as soon as Steam displays an official storage requirement.
Does Big Walk run on Mac?
Yes. Big Walk is coming to Mac through Steam on the same August 4 release date as the Windows version.
The minimum Mac requirements are:
- Operating system: macOS 15
- Processor: Apple M1 or newer
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
The recommended Mac requirements are:
- Operating system: macOS 15
- Processor: Apple M3 or newer
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
Steam lists Apple silicon rather than Intel Mac processors. An older Intel-based Mac is therefore outside the published requirements, even if it can install macOS 15.
Is Big Walk verified for Steam Deck?
There is no official Steam Deck compatibility rating shown on the game's Steam page at the time of writing. That means players should not treat the game as Verified or Playable yet.
Big Walk supports controllers and has relatively accessible minimum graphics requirements, but neither fact confirms Steam Deck support. Compatibility can also depend on text readability, launcher behavior, input prompts, and the way the game runs through SteamOS. The correct status is unconfirmed until Valve displays a rating or House House makes a direct announcement.
Linux support is not listed either. The official computer platforms are Windows and macOS.
Does Big Walk support controllers?
Yes. House House says the computer version supports most game controllers, as well as mouse and keyboard. Controls can be rebound, which should make it easier for players to adjust the layout before joining a long group session.
The developer also confirms mouse mode support on Nintendo Switch 2. That feature does not change the PC requirements, but it shows that the control system is designed around more than one input method.
What should you check before buying?
Compare your computer against the official list instead of relying on an automatic requirements page that may still contain placeholder hardware. At least one current third-party result incorrectly reports 4 GB RAM and much older components, while Steam requires 12 GB RAM and lists specific modern processors.
Before buying Big Walk on computer, confirm:
- Your Windows installation is 64-bit, or your Mac uses Apple silicon
- You have at least 12 GB RAM on Windows or 16 GB on Mac
- Your processor and graphics card meet the official minimum tier
- You have extra storage available while the final download size remains unconfirmed
- Your group has at least two players, because Big Walk is built for online co-op
Big Walk launches on August 4, 2026. The Big Walk release guide covers its platforms, crossplay, player count, and host-save system. The system-requirements list should be checked again on release day for storage information, Steam Deck status, or any late changes from House House.
