World of Warcraft: The Last Titan is coming in 2027. Blizzard confirmed the release window during BlizzCon 2026 and showed a short teaser set in snow-covered Northrend. The final shot reveals an enormous mechanical figure towering over the landscape.
The video runs for less than two minutes and leaves the biggest question unanswered. The machine has no name, its role is unknown, and Blizzard has not called it a boss or an enemy.
What does The Last Titan teaser show?
The teaser moves through an abandoned stretch of Northrend during a blizzard. Snow covers the ruins and the tall, rounded structures around them. A heavy sound builds in the distance, then a shadow passes over the area.
The machine appears piece by piece. Its legs rise behind the buildings, blue lights turn on across its body, and two large circular parts glow above its shoulders. The nearby towers barely reach the lower half of it. Blizzard titled the teaser Colossal, which is about as direct as the video gets.

The design resembles Titan machinery, especially with Ulduar tied to the expansion, but the footage never identifies the figure. It could be a guardian, a weapon, a vehicle, or something Blizzard has not introduced yet. Calling it the expansion’s main villain would be guesswork.
Why is World of Warcraft returning to Northrend?
Northrend was the main setting of Wrath of the Lich King and remains one of World of Warcraft’s most familiar regions. It is also home to Ulduar, the Titan complex in the Storm Peaks that housed ancient machinery, powerful keepers, and the prison of Yogg-Saron.
Blizzard connected The Last Titan to Northrend when the Worldsoul Saga was announced in 2023. The original stage reveal also pointed toward a Titan conspiracy and the Titans returning to Azeroth. The BlizzCon teaser is the first new footage built around that promise.

How does The Last Titan finish the Worldsoul Saga?
The Last Titan is the third expansion in the Worldsoul Saga, following The War Within and Midnight. Blizzard designed the three releases as one connected story, with the final chapter returning to the place where players first uncovered many of Azeroth’s Titan secrets.
Midnight still has one major update left. Eclipse arrives in early 2027 and sends players after Xal’atath inside the Worldcore. Its ending should explain why the story moves north and why the Titans return, but Blizzard kept those answers out of this teaser.
The studio describes The Last Titan as the close of a story built across more than two decades. It is not the end of World of Warcraft. Blizzard says the expansion will also prepare Azeroth for whatever comes after the Worldsoul Saga.
When will World of Warcraft: The Last Titan be released?
The release window is 2027, with no exact date or month announced. Blizzard plans to share more early next year. Preorders, editions, raids, new systems, and the full zone list have not been revealed.

Northrend is awake again, and something enormous is already moving through the snow. Until Blizzard gives the machine a name, that final shot will lead most of the conversation around The Last Titan.
