Gamescom 2026 begins next week, with Opening Night Live arriving one day before the public show floor opens in Cologne. The first showcase is set for August 25, followed by Xbox, Future Games Show, and indie broadcasts across the rest of the week. The official gamescom schedule confirms the August 26–30 event dates, while the full broadcast timetable is now available.

Here is when to watch the biggest streams, what has been confirmed, and which announced games are connected to the Xbox booth rather than the Opening Night Live stage.

Opening Night Live start time

Gamescom Opening Night Live takes place on Tuesday, August 25, at 2 p.m. Eastern, 11 a.m. Pacific, and 1 p.m. Central. A pre-show starts 30 minutes earlier at 1:30 p.m. Eastern. GamesRadar’s schedule lists the main show at 8 p.m. CEST in Germany and describes the presentation as a mix of world premieres, trailers, gameplay, and updates.

The event itself runs from August 26 through August 30 at Koelnmesse in Cologne. Opening Night Live is the preview night, so viewers do not need a Gamescom ticket to follow the announcements from home.

Where to watch the showcase

The Opening Night Live stream will be available through the official gamescom channels on YouTube and Twitch. Geoff Keighley and Eefje Depoortere are set to host the show, according to the published schedule.

Two appearances have already been reported for the main presentation: another look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation with director Naoki Hamaguchi, and footage from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Songs of the Past expansion. GamesRadar’s event guide identifies those as announced parts of the show. Other trailers and premieres have not been confirmed, so rumors should stay separate from the schedule.

Xbox has its own Gamescom broadcasts

Xbox will stream from its booth on Wednesday, August 26, and Thursday, August 27, at 9 a.m. Central (10 a.m. Eastern, 4 p.m. CEST). Xbox Wire says the shows will include developer interviews, special guests, gameplay reveals, and new trailers, with YouTube and Twitch carrying both broadcasts.

The Xbox booth will include 25 upcoming games and 140 gaming stations. The announced playable lineup includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, Minecraft Dungeons II, Stranger Than Heaven, Metro 2039, Halo: Campaign Evolved, Forza Horizon 6, Alien: Isolation 2, and Star Wars Zero Company.

That makes the Xbox stream a useful follow-up to our Modern Warfare 4 beta coverage and Star Wars Zero Company trailer report. The booth list confirms what attendees can play, but it does not mean every listed game will appear during Opening Night Live.

The rest of the Gamescom broadcast week

Future Games Show at Gamescom follows on Wednesday, August 26, at 12 p.m. Central. The show will be followed immediately by FGS Live from Gamescom, with more trailers, interviews, and coverage from the floor. Future Games Show’s official site lists August 26 as the next broadcast date, and PC Gamer’s announcement confirms that a third FGS Best of Gamescom presentation is planned for August 30.

The current schedule also includes the Awesome Indies show on Thursday, August 27, at 1 p.m. Central, plus the second Xbox broadcast earlier that day. FGS Best of Gamescom closes the digital schedule on Sunday, August 30, at noon Central.

What to watch first

Opening Night Live is the best place to look for brand-new announcements, but the following days have more time for gameplay and developer interviews. If you only have time for one stream, start with the August 25 presentation. If you want hands-on details from the games already announced, add the Xbox and Future Games Show broadcasts to your calendar.

Gamescom 2026 runs August 26–30, with the first major show beginning the afternoon before. The schedule can still change, especially for unannounced premieres, so confirmed details should be checked again when the official streams go live.
