Gearbox has revealed Borderlands 4’s second Story Pack, and it is built around the return of one of Borderlands 3’s playable Vault Hunters. Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort launches on September 10, 2026, alongside the new Vault Hunter Loveless the Hacker and Bounty Pack 5. The official Borderlands 4 announcement says FL4K is continuing the hunt on Kairos while searching for the missing skag companion Mr. Chew.

The search leads to a volcanic, overgrown resort on a lush jungle island, where Tediore has started a covert invasion. Gearbox has not explained how Mr. Chew disappeared or what the corporation wants from the island, so the rescue is the hook while the larger threat remains open.

FL4K’s Borderlands 4 story starts with a missing skag

FL4K was one of the four playable Vault Hunters in Borderlands 3. In Story Pack 2, the Beastmaster returns as the focal point of the new narrative rather than as one of Borderlands 4’s new playable Vault Hunters. Mr. Chew’s disappearance gives the expansion a personal reason to move before the Tediore plot takes over.

The announcement also teases a changed look for FL4K, mentioning an animal skull and feathers added to the hunting outfit. It does not explain what happened between the two games or whether the new appearance reflects a larger change in the character. Those answers will have to wait for the expansion’s full material.

A jungle resort becomes Tediore’s next target

The new setting is a lush island dominated by a volcanic, overgrown resort. Tediore is beginning a covert invasion when FL4K arrives to find Mr. Chew, tying the small rescue mission to a corporate operation that could spread across Kairos. The official material confirms the location and the invasion, but not the company’s full objective.

GamesRadar describes the expansion as a John Wick-inspired rescue mission, which is useful shorthand for the determined search at its center. That comparison comes from the outlet’s framing, not from Gearbox’s official description. The confirmed details are the missing skag, the jungle resort, and Tediore’s arrival. for the additional story context.
