Star Wars Zero Company has one last trailer before its August 27 launch, and it slips a familiar Clone Wars face into the campaign. Captain Rex appears briefly in the footage, according to TechRadar’s report. The official trailer post confirms the new video and puts former Republic officer Hawks and a hired squad against a deadly threat led by the Infinite Coil.
Rex is a strong reason for fans to press play, but the trailer is also showing what this game is trying to be: a single-player tactics story about an improvised team working in the gaps left by the Republic and the Separatists.
Captain Rex is back, but his role is still unclear
Rex is the clone captain associated with the Republic’s 501st Legion, and his appearance is only a moment in the final trailer. TechRadar says Bit Reactor has not confirmed whether he will be playable. That distinction matters for anyone expecting to build a squad around him rather than simply meet him during the story.
Rex is not the only familiar Clone Wars connection. The cast announcement lists Matt Lanter as the voice of Anakin Skywalker, while Dee Bradley Baker voices the clone trooper Trick. StarWars.com’s SDCC report also identifies Hawks as a customizable former Republic officer who leaves the military and forms Zero Company.

The campaign has a plague to stop
Zero Company is built around a new conflict inside the Clone Wars. Hawks gathers unconventional allies to investigate the Infinite Coil, a Separatist-aligned paramilitary cult led by Kundri Fathom. The group is trying to spread a deadly plague across the galaxy, giving the campaign a target that is larger than another battle for territory. The official final-trailer write-up also describes a desperate plan that sends the company’s ship straight into a volcano.
