Grand Theft Auto VI has a release date, two confirmed console platforms, and a pair of leads Rockstar has already put in front of the camera. The rest of the picture is still coming together. Here is what the studio has confirmed so far, with the open questions kept separate from the facts.

When does GTA 6 release, and what platforms are confirmed?

Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official page also marks PlayStation 5 as the platform where the game “plays best,” but it does not publish a separate performance target or resolution promise. Rockstar’s GTA VI page is the current source for that date and platform list.

A PC version has not been announced on the official listing. That is all we can say for now. It does not confirm that a PC release will never happen, but players should not treat a rumored date or an assumed port as part of the launch plan.

Who are Jason and Lucia?

GTA 6 follows Jason and Lucia, two criminals whose plans pull them into what Rockstar calls a criminal conspiracy across Leonida. The fictional state includes Vice City, the neon coastal setting that returns from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, but Rockstar’s description makes clear that the game is not limited to one city block or a single kind of environment.

The official material keeps the story setup broad. It gives us the leads, the state of Leonida, and the trouble that brings them together without naming every member of the cast or explaining how the conspiracy unfolds. Our GTA 6 game page keeps the confirmed story and platform details in one place as Rockstar adds more information.

What has Rockstar shown of the world?

Rockstar’s official media page gives a better sense of the game’s range than a short synopsis can. The studio has published screenshots and artwork featuring Vice City streets, waterfront areas, vehicles, and the people around Jason and Lucia. Those images establish the tone and scale of Leonida, but they are not a complete map or a promise that every pictured activity will be available at launch.
