1. Palia — the strongest choice for house design

You get a housing plot where you can add rooms, make furniture, use building blocks, and arrange the yard. Palia also lets you visit other players’ homes for ideas. Pick it if you want the house itself to be the main project. Know before choosing: it is an online world with quests and other activities. 2. Disney Dreamlight Valley — best for a whole village

You can arrange furniture inside your home and across the Valley, and change your avatar’s look. The official beginner guide explains room expansion and custom clothing and furniture. Pick it if Disney characters and outdoor layouts matter more to you than building rooms from scratch. 5. Fields of Mistria — best for pixel-art style

Fields of Mistria lets you change your character, home, and farm while helping a damaged town. Pick it if you like colorful pixel art and want romance and magic alongside decorating. 6. My Time at Sandrock — best for a working workshop

In Sandrock, your workshop makes parts, machines, and large structures for town requests. You can also create items for your homestead. Pick it if you enjoy a practical build that changes as you complete jobs. 7. Roots of Pacha — best for a shared village

You can customize a character, home, and farm while helping a Stone Age clan develop tools and buildings. Pick it if decorating feels more fun when the village grows around it. 8. Wylde Flowers — choose story and fashion first

You play as Tara, farm by day, learn magic, and get to know a fully voiced town. There are outfits to enjoy, but Tara is a fixed main character rather than a character you create from the start.
