God of War: Laufey preorders open September 29 at 10 a.m. local time. The PS5 game is scheduled for February 16, 2027, and Santa Monica Studio has now explained what buyers get with the standard preorder and Digital Deluxe Edition. The announcement also gives us a closer look at Faye's Serpent Bow.

What comes with a preorder?

Preordering either the digital or physical Standard Edition before launch adds the Last Wish Armor Set, a cosmetic Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance and an in-game resource pack. The armor and Phranque appearance can also be unlocked by playing the story, so they are not items you can get only by preordering.

If you buy the physical Standard Edition, the bonus comes through a download code. You need an internet connection and a PlayStation account to redeem it. That code is for the bonus items; the announcement describes the Standard Edition itself as a full game.

What is in the Digital Deluxe Edition?

The digital upgrade includes a Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Blade, Bow Scales and Catalyst, plus a resource pack, digital mini artbook and soundtrack. Santa Monica Studio says the marked in-game items can be unlocked through story progression. The artbook and soundtrack are the clearest extras for players deciding between the two editions.

The studio has not given one universal price in its announcement. Check your local PlayStation Store when preorders go live, because price and timing can vary by region. Laufey is currently announced for PlayStation 5; no PC or Xbox version was announced here.

How does Faye's Serpent Bow work?

The bow has two aiming styles. Full-aim gives you better precision and a longer draw. You can target parts of an enemy's body to slow an attack or create an opening, and you can charge up to five arrows for one volley. Half-aim lets Faye move more freely and fire quickly at close range.

You can also change arrow types and equip different Serpent Scales. Some shots fire rapidly, some explode, and others hit multiple targets. The Scales change the bow's look and add a perk, while unlockable skills expand what it can do. In short, the new screenshots are not just showing another weapon: they show how Faye can switch between careful shots and fast attacks during a fight.

If you already know you want the game, the main choice on September 29 is whether the digital artbook and soundtrack matter to you. The gameplay items in the Deluxe bundle are not the only way to get those looks in the finished game.
