The best Marvel Rivals Team-Ups in Season 9 are Ammo Overload, Wild Wall, Rocket Network, Gamma Maelstrom, Two-In-One, Mr. & Mrs. X, Chain of Cyttorak, Deep Wrath, United Siblings, and Ragnarok Rebirth. They combine a useful base effect with an enhanced partner effect that is easy to build around.
Season 9 rebuilt the Team-Up system. The selected hero keeps the base effect even when the named partner is missing, while the correct partner unlocks a stronger version. That makes a good Team-Up useful before the lobby gives you a perfect composition.

Best Marvel Rivals Team-Ups in Season 9

1. Ammo Overload: Punisher + Rocket Raccoon
Punisher deploys a device that raises his fire rate. Rocket’s presence adds infinite ammunition while Punisher stays inside the effect. The payoff is obvious, the setup is simple, and both players understand where the damage window begins.
2. Wild Wall: Groot + Mantis
Groot’s wall heals nearby allies and grants bonus health. Mantis improves the wall after it restores enough health, giving an objective team a clear place to stabilize. It is useful even when voice chat is quiet because the wall shows everyone where the support is.
3. Rocket Network: Peni Parker + Rocket Raccoon
Peni’s nest gains drones and armor packs. Rocket adds more healing, webs, mines, and B.R.B. support. The pair is strongest around an objective or choke where the enemy must enter the nest’s space.
4. Gamma Maelstrom: Doctor Strange + Hulk
Doctor Strange charges Maelstrom faster and avoids its normal anti-heal penalty. Hulk helps him keep the charge. The combination rewards a frontline that knows when to stay in the fight and when to release the stored pressure.
5. Two-In-One: The Thing + Human Torch
The Thing gains flaming attacks with splash damage, while Human Torch can carry and slam him for a stun. It adds movement, damage, and initiation to a Vanguard who normally wins by controlling close space.
6. Mr. & Mrs. X: Rogue + Gambit
Rogue’s attacks can explode and heal nearby allies. Gambit makes the empowered state permanent. The pair is especially strong when a team wants to fight close to Rogue and keep pressure moving forward.
7. Chain of Cyttorak: Magik + Doctor Strange
Magik binds enemies to one area. Doctor Strange gives the setup a natural partner for grouped damage and controlled engagements. The effect becomes more dangerous when the rest of the team saves an ultimate or area attack for the trapped targets.
8. Deep Wrath: Hela + Namor
Hela creates undead turrets after eliminations, and Namor adds more turret pressure during Hela’s ultimate. The combination grows stronger when the team can confirm kills instead of spreading damage across several targets.
9. United Siblings: Invisible Woman + Human Torch
Invisible Woman shields an ally, heals nearby teammates, improves allied projectiles, and slows enemies that cross the shield. Human Torch adds the enhanced partner value. It is a strong answer when the team wants to hold a doorway or protect a focused firing angle.
10. Ragnarok Rebirth: Thor + Hela
Thor can survive lethal damage and earn a revive, while Hela can activate the revive immediately. The effect can rescue a failed push, but coordinated teams get more from it by tracking whether Hela is ready to turn the extra life into real objective time.
Season 9 Team-Up Tier List
S Tier
Deep Wrath, Frozen Haven, Damisa-Yao, Ammo Overload, Chain of Cyttorak, Gamma Charge, Abyssal Flames, Guardian of the Deep, Two-In-One, Mr. & Mrs. X, Slim & Red, Villain’s Illusion, Wild Wall, Atlas Bond, Symbiote Bond, Rocket Network, United Siblings, Bleed For Battle, Hellfire Sparks, Gamma Maelstrom, Bubble Buddies, Thunder Overdrive, Ragnarok Rebirth, Gamma Monstro, Pair of Threes, and Circle of Life.
A Tier
Gamma Fastball, Bestial Hunt, Jaws of Fate, Psionic Vortex, Burning Bullets, Divine Armory, Light & Dark Darts, Mental Projection, Comprehensive Defense, Kinetic Kin, Vitality Pact, Blood Leech, Sorcerers Supreme, Star-Soul, Blast Slash, Blade of Khonshu, Sparkling Staff, Psionic Fox, Vampiric Kin, Voltaic Union, ESU Alumnus, Metallic Chaos, Expert Instinct, Unbreakable Forces, Storming Ignition, Stark Protocol, Explosive Entanglement, and Surf & Turf.
B Tier
Savage Slam, Moonlit Slash, Dimensional Shortcut, Duality Dance, Cosmic Cyclone, Iron & Stone, Devilish Affair, Favorable Odds, Lucky Loan, Gods of Thunder, Stars Aligned, Blood Moon, Squirrel Missile, Timeless Veterans, First Family, Iced Out Diamond, Gumbo Chimichangas, Primal Punishment, Vibrant Vitality, Mammalian Bond, Luminous Moon, Magnetic Resonance, Flora Munitions, Fiery Sparks, SP//DR Sync, Prehistoric Trap, and Kumiho Palm.
C Tier
Star Blossom, Hel Tendrils, Allied Agents, Vibranium Mech, Fantastic Amplifier, Feline Alliance, Binding Ties, Senbonzakura Strike, Oblivion Shroud, Parker Power-Up, Chilling Charisma, Spirit Breaker, Loudmouth Mercs, Planet X Pals, Void Pentagram, Hex Fireworks, Flawless Design, Telekinetic Beatdown, and Asgardians of the Galaxy.
C Tier does not mean an ability can never work. It means the effect is narrower, harder to activate, or less reliable than the choices above it. A specialist can still get value from a lower-ranked Team-Up when the map and lineup support it.
Best Punisher Team-Up in Season 9
Ammo Overload with Rocket Raccoon is the best Punisher Team-Up for most matches. Punisher already receives the fire-rate device as the base effect, so the pick is useful without Rocket. When Rocket joins the team, infinite ammunition inside the device turns the same window into much stronger sustained pressure.
The pair is beginner-friendly because the plan is visible: place the device where Punisher can hold a sightline, stay inside it while the target is available, and do not waste the window shooting into a shield or empty doorway.

Best Team-Ups for Beginners
Punisher + Rocket
Ammo Overload has one clear place and one clear purpose. It teaches players to fight around a power window without demanding a difficult combo.
Groot + Mantis
Wild Wall creates protection and healing around a visible object. A beginner can help the team simply by placing the wall where allies are already fighting.
Peni Parker + Rocket
Rocket Network adds automatic value around the nest. The player still needs good placement, but the drones, armor, healing, webs, and mines do not require frame-perfect timing.
Thor + Hela
Ragnarok Rebirth gives Thor another chance after a mistake. It becomes stronger when Hela understands when the revive can save a push instead of extending a fight that is already lost.
If the role names are still confusing, read the Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist guide before choosing a combo around one favorite hero.
Best Team-Ups for Ranked Teams
Mr. & Mrs. X
Rogue and Gambit reward a group that stays close enough to share pressure and healing. The permanent empowered state gives the team a stable plan instead of one short burst.
Chain of Cyttorak
Magik and Doctor Strange can hold several enemies in one area. Ranked teams gain more value when they call the bind before spending ultimates.
United Siblings
Invisible Woman and Human Torch help a team control a narrow entrance with protection, healing, stronger allied shots, and a slow for enemies that cross the shield.
Rocket Network
Peni and Rocket remain reliable on objectives. The nest creates an area the enemy must respect, while Rocket turns that area into a deeper pool of defensive tools.
Pair these abilities with the Season 9 hero tier list instead of choosing a Team-Up without considering the rest of the roster.
Do You Need the Partner?
No. The selected hero keeps the base effect as soon as the Team-Up is chosen. The named partner only unlocks the enhanced version. If the partner is banned, missing, or switches heroes, the base effect remains and the enhancement disappears.
The partner does not need to select a matching ability. Their presence on the team is enough. Return to spawn or the hero-select screen when you want to change your Team-Up choice.
How to Choose a Team-Up
Start With the Hero You Will Actually Play
A powerful tier-list entry is wasted when it pushes you onto a hero you cannot use. Pick a base effect that helps your normal job, then check whether a teammate can add the enhanced version.
Match the Map and Fight
Wild Wall and Rocket Network become easier to use around objectives and choke points. Two-In-One and Chain of Cyttorak help start close engagements. Ammo Overload prefers a clean firing angle. The same Team-Up can move a tier depending on the space.
Do Not Break a Good Team for One Enhancement
The partner effect is a bonus, not permission to remove needed healing, frontline control, or ranged pressure. A balanced six-hero lineup with several useful base effects is often better than a weak lineup built to activate one favorite pair.
The Marvel Rivals counters guide can help when the enemy lineup is the larger problem.
How This Tier List Was Built
The ranking uses the official Season 9 Team-Up directory, the Season 9 launch notes, the July balance posts, and the July 16, July 23, and July 30 patch notes. Official ability behavior takes priority over community rankings.
S Tier means the base effect is useful in common fights and the partner adds a strong upgrade. A Tier is consistently good but less universal. B Tier needs a clearer map, matchup, or specialist. C Tier is narrower or harder to justify against stronger choices.
The July 30 patch fixed issues involving Ragnarok Rebirth, Rocket Network, Oblivion Shroud, and Jubilee without adding another numerical balance pass. Team-Up rankings can move after any future balance update, so check the article date before using the list for ranked picks.
Season 9.5 and The Hood Team-Ups
The Hood is not playable until Season 9.5. Magik, Cloak & Dagger, and Jubilee can select their Hood-linked Team-Ups and use the base effect before the partner arrives, but the enhanced effect cannot activate until The Hood is on the team.
Hellfire Sparks still has enough base value to rank well. Void Pentagram and Oblivion Shroud are harder to recommend before the partner becomes available because their full payoff is missing.
