Marvel Rivals has 52 heroes in Season 9, so a tier list can become confusing very quickly. This guide keeps the ranking simple. It shows the heroes who are performing well now, the strong alternatives, and the characters that need more practice or a better team around them.
The list was checked on July 30, 2026. It uses the official Season 9 balance update, the July 11 adjustments, current win-rate tracking, and high-rank analysis. The latest July 30 patch did not add another balance pass. This is a Pixel Twelve ranking, not an official list from NetEase Games.
S Tier contains the safest current choices. A Tier heroes are strong in most matches. B Tier heroes can still work well but depend more on the player, map, or team. C Tier does not mean useless. Those characters are harder to recommend when other heroes can do the same job more reliably.
Marvel Rivals Season 9 Tier List
S Tier: Peni Parker, Venom, Magik, Hela, Daredevil, Black Panther, Rocket Raccoon, Mantis, and Gambit.
A Tier: Hulk, Thor, Devil Dinosaur, The Thing, Groot, Phoenix, Spider-Man, The Punisher, Mister Fantastic, Blade, Cloak & Dagger, Invisible Woman, Jubilee, Luna Snow, and Deadpool. Deadpool can fill all three roles, but his value changes with the role chosen.
B Tier: Angela, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Emma Frost, Magneto, Rogue, Black Cat, Cyclops, Elsa Bloodstone, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Namor, Star-Lord, Storm, Winter Soldier, Wolverine, Adam Warlock, Jeff the Land Shark, Loki, Ultron, and White Fox.
C Tier: Black Widow, Hawkeye, Human Torch, Moon Knight, Psylocke, Scarlet Witch, and Squirrel Girl.
Best Vanguards
Peni Parker is the easiest Vanguard to recommend from the current numbers. Community-tracked data places her adjusted win rate at 56.4%, the highest figure in the current Season 9 table. Her traps and area control are useful even when a team is not talking much.
Venom is the stronger choice for players who want to dive into the enemy team. He can reach the back line, survive pressure, and pull attention away from his teammates. Peni is usually safer for holding an area. Venom is better when the team needs someone to start the fight.
Hulk, Thor, The Thing, Devil Dinosaur, and Groot sit in A Tier. Each can lead a team, but they need the right map or teammates more often than Peni and Venom. Magneto and Emma Frost remain useful, though their current results are less consistent across different ranks.
Best Duelists
Magik has one of the best current win rates and can punish teams that lose track of her. Hela remains a strong ranged pick for players with steady aim. Daredevil and Black Panther are dangerous in skilled hands because they can reach vulnerable enemies and escape before the other team responds.
The Punisher and Phoenix are placed in A Tier instead of S. High-rank lists value them more than general win-rate data does. Both can take over a match, but aim, positioning, and team support affect them more than the safest S-Tier choices.
Spider-Man is also in A Tier. A good Spider-Man can disrupt the back line and leave before he is trapped. New players may get more value from a simpler Duelist while they learn maps and team fights.
Best Strategists
Mantis and Rocket Raccoon are strong for most ranks. Mantis brings healing, damage support, and control. Rocket is mobile, difficult to catch, and useful even when the fight becomes messy. Gambit is harder to judge from win rate alone, but high-rank analysis continues to value his healing and team utility.
Luna Snow, Cloak & Dagger, Invisible Woman, and Jubilee are close behind in A Tier. Jubilee is new and has already received an early adjustment, so her exact position may change as more Season 9 matches are played. A Tier is a fair place for her now.
Heroes That Change With Rank
Tier lists do not look identical at every skill level. Punisher and Phoenix become more dangerous when players have stronger aim and teams protect good positions. Gambit also gains value when teammates understand how to use his healing and utility.
Storm and Ultron show the opposite problem. Their general results can look strong, while some high-rank lists place them lower. They can win plenty of matches, but experienced opponents are better at limiting the situations where they are most effective.
Console and PC results can also feel different. Heroes that need very precise aim may be easier for one player with a mouse and keyboard and more comfortable for another player with a controller. Use the tier list as a starting point, then keep the heroes that fit how you play.
Should You Only Play S-Tier Heroes?
No. A familiar A- or B-Tier hero is usually more useful than an S-Tier hero you do not understand. Learn two heroes in your main role and one backup for a different role. This gives your team options without forcing you to learn the full roster at once.
Balance updates can move several heroes in one day. Check the date at the top of the guide after a patch, and expect the list to change when NetEase adds a hero or adjusts the current Team-Up system.
