Madden NFL 27 launches with six players rated 99 overall. The group is unusually offense-heavy: two wide receivers, two quarterbacks, one tight end, and one edge rusher sit at the top of EA’s database.

A 99 OVR does not make every player useful in exactly the same way. Josh Allen gives you arm strength and movement at quarterback, Ja'Marr Chase and Jaxon Smith-Njigba can take over the passing game, while Myles Garrett is the only defender in the group.

The numbers below come from EA's official Madden NFL 27 launch ratings database. Ratings can change during the season, so this page should be treated as the launch snapshot.

Every Madden NFL 27 99 Club player

Ja'Marr Chase — WR, Cincinnati Bengals — 99 OVR

Cincinnati's wide receiver starts with the Double Me X-Factor and elite ratings across catching, release, and route running.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba — WR, Seattle Seahawks — 99 OVR

Seattle's receiver joins the top tier with Double Me and a profile built around polished route running and reliable catches.

Josh Allen — QB, Buffalo Bills — 99 OVR

Buffalo's quarterback brings the Bazooka X-Factor, 98 throw power, and the mobility to threaten a defense outside the pocket.

Matthew Stafford — QB, Los Angeles Rams — 99 OVR

The Rams quarterback reaches 99 OVR with the Dots X-Factor and high marks for short, medium, and deep accuracy.

Myles Garrett — REDG, Los Angeles Rams — 99 OVR

The Rams edge rusher is the only defensive player at 99 OVR and carries the Unstoppable Force X-Factor.

Trey McBride — TE, Arizona Cardinals — 99 OVR

Arizona's tight end rounds out the group with YAC 'Em Up, giving him a strong role after the catch instead of making him only a safety valve.

The five players sitting just below 99

Christian Gonzalez, Jahmyr Gibbs, Micah Parsons, Penei Sewell, and Puka Nacua all start at 98 OVR. That group covers five very different jobs, which makes the one-point gap less important than the way you plan to use each player.

Gonzalez can anchor a secondary, Parsons gives Green Bay a high-end edge threat, and Sewell is the strongest offensive lineman in the top 20. Gibbs and Nacua are the obvious choices when you want the ball in a playmaker’s hands.

Which 99-rated player is best on offense?

Josh Allen is the easiest answer for players who want one star to influence every snap. He combines 98 throw power with 97 short accuracy and strong movement ratings, so he can attack deep without becoming stationary in the pocket.

The receivers offer a different kind of advantage. Chase has 96 speed, 98 catching, and 99 release. Smith-Njigba is slightly slower at 93 speed but carries 99 medium route running and 98 spectacular catch. Stafford lacks Allen's movement, but his 99 short accuracy and 97 medium accuracy make him a strong fit for a controlled passing offense.

Myles Garrett stands alone on defense

Garrett is the only defensive 99 at launch. His Unstoppable Force X-Factor is built for pressuring the quarterback, and his combination of power, finesse, and pursuit makes him a problem even when you are not manually controlling him.

The next defensive names are Christian Gonzalez and Micah Parsons at 98, followed by Fred Warner, Maxx Crosby, and Patrick Surtain II at 97. Players building around defense still have elite choices, but Garrett is the only one who begins at the absolute ceiling.

What a 99 OVR rating actually tells you

Overall rating is a quick summary, not a promise that a player wins every matchup. Position-specific attributes still decide how someone feels on the field. A quarterback needs the right mix of accuracy, throw power, and pressure ratings, while a receiver depends on speed, release, catching, and route running.

Abilities matter too. The six 99 Club players do not share one universal bonus: their X-Factors support different jobs. Pick the player who fits your scheme instead of forcing the highest number into a role that does not suit the rest of your roster.

Will Madden NFL 27 ratings change?

Yes. EA labels these as launch ratings, and the database can move players up or down as the NFL season develops. Injuries, form, roster moves, and weekly performance can all change which players appear near the top.

That makes this list a useful starting point for Play Now and a new Franchise, not a permanent ranking for the entire Madden NFL 27 cycle. We will update the page when EA makes a major ratings change rather than silently leaving old numbers in place.

How the ratings fit the Madden NFL 27 cluster

The Madden NFL 27 game page collects the current platforms, release information, and related coverage. The ratings page is the quick reference; the beginner and Franchise guides handle what to do once you start playing.

At launch, the headline is simple: Madden NFL 27 has six members of the 99 Club, and offense controls five of those six spots. Myles Garrett is the lone defender breaking up the group.
