LEVEL5 has released two full videos from its DECAPOLICE demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026. One follows a Case Quest, where the detective team investigates a crime. The other shows City Patrol, where players move around the city and deal with an encounter. Both are part of the same upcoming crime RPG, but they show different things you will actually do.
What the Case Quest video shows
At the start of the demo video, players choose between Case Quest and City Patrol. Case Quest puts the investigation first. The video shows the team discussing a case, a digital map of the city and several conversations. LEVEL5 says that clues found in DECASIM, a virtual copy of the real city, can help solve crimes. Players pin evidence to a case board before they decide what happened.
The video is useful because it gives the case work more room than a quick trailer can. It does not, however, show every step of a full investigation in the short section we reviewed. The TGS demo was in Japanese, according to LEVEL5’s exhibition page. The English game site explains the broad systems, but the uploaded playthrough itself does not provide a full English walkthrough.
What changes in City Patrol
The City Patrol video moves Harvard Marks around the streets and into a fight. We see the city map, a group encounter, choices on a battle screen and a criminal who changes form. The official site calls those enemies Crime Beasts. It says players can sometimes talk a suspect into surrendering; when that fails, they may need to fight and make an arrest.
This is still a look at a demo, not proof of everything that will be in the finished game. The footage does make one point clear: DECAPOLICE is not only a mystery game or only a combat RPG. The two videos show the investigation and action sides next to each other. The official trailer also shows the evidence board and the rookie detective team.
When is DECAPOLICE coming out?
DECAPOLICE is scheduled for 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. LEVEL5 has not announced a day or month. The game was previously listed for earlier windows, so the current official site is the safest source for the new 2027 plan. A price has not been announced there either.
Harvard leads the Special Investigations Unit’s rookie team. Carl Oxford is the negotiator, Zhang Tsinghua is its hacker, Manimani Manoa handles profiling, and Mikey Princeton specializes in martial arts. LEVEL5 also lists Granger Boston as the unit chief and Misae Cambridge as the team’s instructor. The Pixel Twelve game page has the official cover and more clear images from the videos.
