Madden NFL 27 is EA Sports’ current NFL simulation. On the field, timing-based catching adds player control at contested catch points, while expanded receiver-versus-defender interactions use leverage and hand fighting to decide separation. Short-yardage mechanics, defensive coverage tools, pre-play adjustments, Coach Mode, and changing weather give players more ways to shape each matchup.

Franchise is built around the Persona Engine, which assigns players distinct motivations and reactions that affect negotiations and roster decisions. Free Agency Frenzy runs simultaneous bidding, and weekly recaps help track the league. Superstar follows a created player through the G.O.A.T. Career Journey, with branching skill trees, career decisions, and playable positions including tight end, edge rusher, and free safety.

The game also includes Madden Ultimate Team, Play Now, Online Head-to-Head, and other modes. It launched on August 13, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
