Hell Let Loose: Vietnam releases on August 13, 2026. The date was moved from June 18 after more than 350,000 people joined the open beta and the developers decided to spend additional time on performance, stability, and gameplay balance.
It is a separate 50v50 multiplayer game from Expression Games and Team17. You do not need to own the original Hell Let Loose, and Vietnam is not an expansion that installs inside the World War II game.
Release Date and Platforms
- Release date: August 13, 2026.
- PC: Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
- Console: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Not announced: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or Switch 2.
The game is online only and does not include a single-player campaign. A broadband internet connection is required even if you only want to use the tutorials. Console players also need the online multiplayer subscription required by their platform.
Standard and Deluxe Edition Prices
The US price is $39.99 for the Standard Edition and $59.99 for the Deluxe Edition. Regional prices can differ. Steam is offering a 10 percent preorder discount until launch, reducing the current US prices to $35.99 and $53.99.
The Standard Edition includes the full game. Preordering adds a US Boat Crew uniform. The Deluxe Edition includes the game and the 2026 Field Supplies collection, which adds the NVA Boat Crew uniform, an ANZAC and NVA pack planned for Q3 2026, and a Green Berets and Navy SEALs pack planned for Q4 2026.
Those extras are cosmetic. The Deluxe Edition does not advertise early access, extra maps, stronger weapons, or a gameplay advantage. Standard gives you the same launch battles and core features for $20 less.
How Cross-Play Works
Cross-play is planned for launch across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Servers can be marked for full cross-platform play, PC only, or console only. Server owners can choose which platforms they allow, and players can select the type of server they prefer.
This setup means console players are not forced into PC matches. Friends on different platforms should look for a server tagged for full cross-platform play. The July test successfully placed PC, PS5, and Xbox players in the same matches, but final launch performance still needs to be judged after the live servers open.
What Is Included at Launch?
- 50v50 online battles with US Forces and the North Vietnamese Army.
- Six large maps inspired by real locations and operations.
- Six game modes, including Warfare, Offensive, and four rotating alternatives.
- Nineteen roles across command, infantry, recon, armor, helicopters, and mortar squads.
- Helicopters, patrol boats, tanks, NVA tunnels, and an updated tactical map.
Warfare has both teams fighting over five sectors. Offensive gives one side the attacking job and the other side the defense. The maps include jungles, rivers, farmland, military bases, airfields, coastal areas, and industrial locations rather than using the same jungle layout six times.
Which Maps Have Players Already Seen?
Thanh Hóa Bridge was used for the May open beta. Its main crossing brings infantry, tanks, helicopters, and patrol boats into the same area, while the river gives both teams another route around defended ground.
Đắk Tô Airfield appeared in the July cross-platform test. It combines fortified positions and nearby villages with a wide runway that exposes unsupported infantry. The other launch maps will add more farmland, docks, coastal terrain, waterways, and jungle, but Team17 has not placed every final map name on the main store pages.
PC Requirements
The minimum PC specification lists Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-6600 or Ryzen 3 1300X, 12 GB of RAM, a GTX 960 4 GB or Radeon R9 380 4 GB, DirectX 12, and 52 GB of storage. The recommended specification raises memory to 16 GB and lists an i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600X with a GTX 1060 6 GB or Radeon RX 590 8 GB.
Performance was one reason for the delay. Expression Games says it has added more graphics options, resolution scaling, rendering improvements, animation work, and console optimization since the beta. PC players near the minimum specification should still wait for launch testing before assuming every large battle will run smoothly.
