Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launched on August 13, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Standard Edition costs $39.99 in the US, while the Deluxe Edition costs $59.99. Regional prices and temporary discounts can differ.

This is a standalone 50v50 multiplayer game from Expression Games and Team17, not an expansion for the original Hell Let Loose. You do not need the World War II game, and buying one does not unlock the other.

Is Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Out Now?

  • Not announced: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or Nintendo Switch 2.

The game is online only and has no single-player campaign. PlayStation lists PS Plus as required for online play, and Xbox requires the multiplayer subscription attached to its console service. A broadband connection is also required on PC.

Standard and Deluxe Edition Prices

Standard includes the complete game. Deluxe adds the NVA Boat Crew uniform and the 2026 Field Supplies collection, including an ANZAC and NVA pack scheduled for Q3 2026 and a Green Berets and Navy SEALs pack scheduled for Q4 2026.

The US Army Boat Crew uniform was the preorder bonus. Preordering has ended, and the uniform is now listed separately on the PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam stores. None of these cosmetics adds a map, role, weapon advantage, or early access.

How Cross-Play Works

Cross-platform multiplayer is supported, but the current storefronts do not describe it with identical detail. Steam marks cross-platform multiplayer, Xbox confirms cross-platform multiplayer within its ecosystem, and PlayStation confirms online play without spelling out every supported platform pairing on the store page. Team17’s pre-release testing included PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Region, server population, community rules, and platform-specific subscriptions can still affect which matches are available. PlayStation requires PS Plus for online play, while Xbox requires the multiplayer subscription attached to its console service.

What Is Included in the Released Game?

  • 50v50 online battles between US Forces and the North Vietnamese Army.
  • Six large maps inspired by real locations and operations.
  • Warfare, Offensive, and rotating alternative modes.
  • Helicopters, patrol boats, tanks, NVA tunnels, mortars, and expanded infantry movement.
  • A revamped tutorial and onboarding flow for new players.

Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox currently enumerate 17 roles across six battlefield units. The official Hell Let Loose website still says 19, leaving Team17's own pages in conflict. The three storefronts provide the same complete 17-role list, which is the count used in the current roles guide.

Maps and Modes at Launch

Warfare remains a tug-of-war over five sectors. Offensive divides the teams into attackers and defenders, while alternative modes adjust the rules for shorter or more focused battles. Official storefronts now avoid promising a fixed count for those alternatives, so the durable description is Warfare, Offensive, and rotating modes rather than six modes that are always available together.

The six maps use rivers, farmland, military bases, airfields, settlements, docks, coastal ground, and more than one kind of jungle terrain. Thanh Hóa Bridge appeared in the May beta, and Đắk Tô Airfield was used for the July cross-platform test. The stores advertise six maps without naming every one on the product page.

The Official PC Requirements Conflict

Steam and the official Hell Let Loose requirements page currently publish different specifications. There is no single official table that matches across both pages, so PC buyers should compare the two before assuming a system meets the current build.

  • Steam minimum: Windows 10, Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060 Super or Radeon RX 6600 XT, and 30 GB storage.
  • Steam recommended: Windows 11, Core i5-12600K or Ryzen 5 7600X, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3060 Ti or Radeon RX 6900 XT, and 30 GB storage.
  • Official-site minimum: Windows 11, Core i5-6600 or Ryzen 3 1300X, 12 GB RAM, GTX 960 4 GB or Radeon R9 380 4 GB, and 52 GB storage.
  • Official-site recommended: Windows 11, Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600X, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1060 6 GB or Radeon RX 590 8 GB, and 52 GB storage.

Both pages require DirectX 12 and broadband internet. The large CPU, GPU, operating-system, and storage differences are not minor formatting changes. Check the Steam listing and the official requirements page again before buying, and leave room for patches beyond the stated storage figure.

Which Edition Should You Buy?

Buy Standard if you want the full tactical shooter and do not care about the announced uniforms. Deluxe costs $20 more in the US and is only a sensible upgrade if those cosmetic packs already appeal to you. It does not unlock cross-play, maps, roles, or a gameplay advantage.
