Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a standalone 50v50 tactical first-person shooter built around squads, communication, and a chain of command rather than individual score chasing. Matches span six large battlefields, with infantry, recon, armor, mortar, and helicopter units working toward shared objectives. Warfare and Offensive retain large-scale territory fights, while four alternate modes change the rules and tempo without turning the game into a smaller arcade shooter.

The two armies are deliberately asymmetrical. US forces can use helicopters for fire support and supply runs, North Vietnamese forces can build tunnel networks for movement and surprise attacks, and both sides can deploy patrol boats on river routes. Swimming, climbing, fast crawling, and dragging wounded teammates make the terrain and recovery loop different from the original World War II game. The current official game page lists 19 specialized roles, although launch storefronts have not always agreed on the total.

The four resources on this hub answer different questions. The beginner guide covers spawning, communication, tutorials, and the decisions that matter in a first match. The roles guide explains the battlefield jobs and flags the conflicting official role counts. The release guide is for price, maps, platforms, editions, and cross-play rules. The comparison article focuses on what Vietnam changes from the original Hell Let Loose, including helicopters, tunnels, boats, movement, and the tactical map.
