EA Sports FC 27 has three paid editions in the United States: Standard at $69.99, Ultimate at $99.99, and Ultimate Plus at $149.99. Standard is the sensible choice for most Career Mode and casual players. Ultimate is the better middle ground for regular Ultimate Team players. Ultimate Plus only makes sense if you already plan to spend heavily on FUT and Premium Passes.
The expensive editions do not unlock a larger base game. Every paid edition includes the full FC 27 experience. The extra money goes toward early access, FC Points, Premium Passes, and bonus items. This comparison explains exactly what changes so you can avoid paying for rewards you will never use.

EA FC 27 edition prices and release dates
The prices below come from the current US PlayStation listing and Xbox listing. Regional prices, retailer discounts, and EA Play offers can differ. The global release date is September 25, 2026, while Ultimate and Ultimate Plus owners can begin up to seven days early on September 18. EA lists the complete schedule in its official editions FAQ.
- Standard Edition — $69.99: full game on September 25, with preorder bonuses but no early access, FC Points, or Premium Pass.
- Ultimate Edition — $99.99: full game from September 18, 6,000 FC Points across three months, Season 1 Premium Pass, and extra FUT, Career, and FC 26 rewards.
- Ultimate Plus Edition — $149.99: full game from September 18, 10,000 FC Points across five months, Premium Passes for Seasons 1–5, a Hall of FUT Player Pick, and the largest reward bundle.
Ultimate Plus is a limited preorder edition. It disappears after August 31, 2026. Ultimate remains available after that date, but part of its early-bird bonus package changes.
Which EA FC 27 edition should you buy?
Choose Standard if you mainly play Career, Kick-Off, or casually
Standard includes the same core game and major modes as the other paid editions. You still get Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Clubs where supported, Kick-Off, and the new features built into FC 27. The main sacrifice is time and bonus currency: you start on September 25 and receive no FC Points or Premium Pass.
Career Mode players should first look at the full FC 27 Career Mode feature guide. If the rebuilt transfer market, Dynamic OVR, and challenge tools are your reason for buying, the Standard Edition already gives you those systems. Paying another $30 or $80 does not create a different Career Mode.
Choose Ultimate if you play FUT every week
Ultimate adds the benefits most regular FUT players will actually notice: seven days of early access, 6,000 FC Points delivered over three months, the Season 1 Premium Pass, an additional Player Evolution slot, and an 85+ International ICON if you preorder by August 31. It costs $30 more than Standard, which is a much smaller jump than the $50 gap from Ultimate to Ultimate Plus.
Starting on September 18 matters in Ultimate Team because the market, objectives, and early squads begin moving before the global launch. That does not guarantee better pack luck or a stronger team, but it gives active players more time to learn the new systems and complete early content.
Choose Ultimate Plus only if you already spend on FUT
Ultimate Plus is built for committed Ultimate Team players. Compared with Ultimate, the extra $50 adds 4,000 more FC Points, four additional Premium Passes, the Hall of FUT Player Pick, and a 99 Physical Evolution for FC 26. It does not give you more early-access days or a different version of the base game.
The edition is easier to justify if you would buy those Premium Passes and extra FC Points anyway. If you normally avoid FC Points, skip passes, or stop playing FUT after the first month, the headline bundle can become expensive unused content.
What comes with the Standard Edition?
Standard is not a stripped-down game. It includes the full release and the following preorder content when ordered by September 24:
- Career preorder challenges
- Three ICONs or Heroes for Manager Career
- A five-star coach and five-star youth scout for Manager Career
- The Grounds Signature Sweatsuit, Mbappé-inspired Tier 3 AMP, and two double-AXP consumables for ten matches
- An untradeable 92+ OVR ICON item for EA Sports FC 26, which is sold separately
Standard does not include September 18 early access, FC 27 FC Points, a Premium Pass, the extra FUT Evolution slot, or the 85+ International ICON. For a player who cares more about matches and Career saves than account rewards, that is usually a fair trade.
What comes with the Ultimate Edition?
Ultimate includes the full game and adds:
- Up to seven days of early access beginning September 18
- 6,000 FC Points delivered in three monthly drops
- The Season 1 Premium Pass
- An additional FUT Player Evolution slot

If you preorder Ultimate by August 31, EA also adds an 85+ International ICON for FC 27 and a 93+ ICON Player Pick for FC 26. Ultimate remains available after August 31, but that early-bird window is important if those two player items affect your decision.
What comes with the Ultimate Plus Edition?
Ultimate Plus includes all Ultimate content and expands the FUT package. The complete terms appear in EA’s official offer disclaimers. The main additions are:
- 10,000 FC Points delivered in five monthly drops instead of 6,000 across three
- Premium Passes for Seasons 1–5 instead of only Season 1
- One untradeable Hall of FUT Player Pick from Adebayo Akinfenwa, Giovani dos Santos, Loïc Rémy, Marouane Fellaini, or Eljero Elia
- A 99 Physical Evolution for FC 26 in addition to the 99 Dribbling Evolution
The early access date is still September 18. Ultimate Plus does not start before Ultimate. It is also not available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, or the Epic Games Store.
The August 31 deadline changes what you receive
August 31 is the most important date before launch. EA’s legal terms set the Ultimate early-bird offer to expire at 16:00 UTC that day. Ultimate Plus is only sold during this early-bird window and disappears afterward.
Ultimate stays on sale through September 24, but preordering by August 31 secures the 85+ International ICON for FC 27 and the early-bird FC 26 ICON Player Pick. Standard preorder bonuses run through September 24. If you are waiting for more gameplay details, remember that the edition itself and the bonus deadline are separate decisions.
How the FC Points drops work
Neither expensive edition gives every FC Point on day one. Ultimate grants 6,000 points in three equal drops of 2,000. Ultimate Plus grants 10,000 in five equal drops of 2,000. The first drop arrives when you first log into Ultimate Team, with later grants arriving monthly by the 15th.
This matters if you are buying the edition for launch packs. Ultimate Plus does not place all 10,000 points into your account during early access. EA also sets deadlines for beginning the distribution: August 1, 2027 for Ultimate and June 1, 2027 for Ultimate Plus. The Premium Passes must be used while their matching seasons are active.

Do not confuse FC 26 bonuses with FC 27 rewards
Several preorder rewards are for EA Sports FC 26, not FC 27. The 92+ or 93+ ICON Player Items and the 99-stat Evolutions listed as FC 26 content require a separate copy of FC 26. You must use the same platform and linked EA Account used for the FC 27 preorder.
Those FC 26 rewards are not available on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2. If you have stopped playing FC 26, treat them as a temporary extra rather than a reason to pay more for FC 27.
Platform limits you should check before buying
Ultimate and Standard are available through the EA app, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and Epic Games Store. Ultimate Plus is not sold on either Nintendo system or Epic.
The Grounds and Clubs are limited to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players can buy editions that list The Grounds cosmetics, but the mode itself is not available on those older consoles. That makes part of the preorder package unusable there.

Dual Entitlement and edition upgrades
EA confirms free Dual Entitlement from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation bundle includes both console versions, and the Xbox bundle uses Smart Delivery. This does not make an Xbox purchase transferable to PlayStation or PC.
You also cannot upgrade an Ultimate Edition purchase to Ultimate Plus later. Because Ultimate Plus disappears after August 31, players considering it need to choose before the deadline rather than buying Ultimate and paying the difference later.
FC 27 Lite is the free option
EA FC 27 Lite is a free, limited preview launching September 25 at 16:00 UTC on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, the EA app, Steam, and Epic Games Store. It includes selected modes such as Kick-Off and lets players upgrade to the full game.
Lite is useful if you are unsure about the new gameplay or only want a basic local match. It is not a substitute for the full Career, FUT, and online package, and EA has not listed it for Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 in the editions FAQ.
