Terraria crossplay is close, but it is not live yet. In its September State of the Game, Re-Logic said it is putting the final touches on Crossplay Phase One. The studio expects the submission to be ready in the near future and says it will tell players when that happens. It did not give a launch date.

That is a more precise update than a vague promise of crossplay “soon.” The feature still has to pass through the release process after the team finishes its work. Players should wait for Re-Logic to confirm the rollout before assuming they can start a shared world across PC and console.

What Phase One means right now

The developer is calling its first crossplay rollout Phase One. The September post does not include a complete list of supported platform combinations, setup steps or a date for every device. Those are details to check when Re-Logic publishes the release notes. PC, console and mobile versions have been moving closer together through recent updates, which is why the team has brought their development news into one section.

Re-Logic labels the coming work under Terraria 1.4.6 and says it is also handling a few remaining fixes from 1.4.5.8. It plans to work on Phase Two as soon as it can after Phase One. The studio hinted that another update may arrive between the two phases, but it has not explained what that would be.

Crossplay and mods are separate updates

Players who use tModLoader should not read the crossplay news as a promise that their mods will work on every platform. The tModLoader team says its October 1 update for 1.4.4 will mainly contain bug fixes. Work on its 1.4.5 preview branch continues, and the team says a full 1.4.5 release will take many more months.

That distinction matters if your group plays with mods on PC. A new crossplay option for the base game would not automatically bring the same modded setup to consoles. Re-Logic has not announced console tModLoader support in this update.

For now, the practical answer is simple: there is no confirmed Crossplay Phase One release date. Re-Logic says the submission is getting close. Watch for its next official announcement before making plans around a specific weekend or platform pairing.
