CONTROL Resonant has its first post-launch outline. Remedy says New Game++ is expected in October, followed by Photo Mode in November. The studio also plans more cosmetic items in later updates. These are targets, not features you can use in the game today.
The most useful change for repeat players is New Game++. The current New Game+ lets you finish the story one more time with your progress. After that, starting again means giving up that run’s accumulated progress. Remedy says the planned update will let you begin another NG+ run after the last one, keeping that cycle going.
What New Game++ actually changes
If you are still on your first playthrough, nothing changes immediately. Finish the game and the existing NG+ is there. The October plan is aimed at players who want a third, fourth or later run without rebuilding their progress from scratch. That matters in a game with different weapons and abilities to try, especially if you reach your preferred setup late in the story.
Remedy’s announcement puts it playfully:
Do 665 runs if you want!
The number is a joke, not a promise of 665 new campaigns. The point is that the studio wants repeated runs to remain available on one save. Remedy has not announced a specific day in October, so players should treat the month as a plan until a patch date is confirmed.
Photo Mode will take longer
Photo Mode is targeted for November. CONTROL Resonant’s striking locations have already made players ask for a way to pause, frame and save their own shots. The mode was not included at launch. Remedy has not listed its camera controls or filters yet, so it would be premature to describe what tools it will include.
The later timing has drawn mixed reactions. In a public r/Games discussion of Remedy’s announcement, some players said they will have moved on before November. Others said Photo Mode and more replay options give them a reason to return. Those comments show two common ways people use an action game: finish the story once, or keep exploring and experimenting with builds.
Cosmetic additions are also in the plan, but Remedy has not given dates or a list of items. There is no reason to describe those as a paid expansion or a new story chapter; neither was announced in this update.
