Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian has released a new Season 2 teaser, confirming that the romantic comedy will return in 2027 with Alya, Masachika, Yuki and Masha together again.
The short video focuses on the characters and their reactions rather than giving away the entire next arc. Alya and Masachika are comfortable enough to spend more time together, but every quiet moment comes with another person watching, worrying or hiding something.
The official Season 2 introduction fills in the setting. Summer break includes study sessions and a student council training camp at a seaside villa. The warmer setting brings Alya and Masachika closer, while Masha carries feelings she has not shared.
Alya and Masachika have moved past the first step
Season 1 spent much of its time on whether Masachika understood the Russian comments Alya thought she was hiding. By the end, they had also committed to the student council race.
Season 2 can now push both parts of their relationship forward. They have promised to meet during the break, and working together gives them fewer places to hide when a conversation becomes personal.
The new teaser does not present summer as an easy reward. It shows small looks and uncomfortable pauses that suggest the group already knows the balance is changing.
Masha is part of the story, not a side joke
The official introduction specifically points to Masha’s hidden feelings. That makes her more than the gentle older sister who understands Masachika’s connection to Russian.
Yukiyo Fujii returns as Masha. Sumire Uesaka voices Alya, and Kohei Amasaki voices Masachika. Wakana Maruoka returns as Yuki, while Saya Aizawa voices Ayano.
The wider cast also includes Ikumi Hasegawa as Sayaka, Yoshino Aoyama as Nonoa, Maki Kawase as Chisaki, Kaito Ishikawa as Touya, Kodai Sakai as Takeshi and Taichi Ichikawa as Hikaru.
Yuki remains important because the election has not disappeared. Alya wants to become student council president, and Masachika has decided to support her. Their relationship is developing inside a real competition, not in a separate romantic story where school politics can be ignored.
Season 2 has a new director
Hiroshi Haraguchi directs the second season, with Seong-Min Kim serving as deputy director. Yuka Yamada handles series composition, Yuhei Murota returns as character designer and Doga Kobo continues as the animation studio.
The anime adapts the light novels by Sunsunsun, illustrated by Momoco. The first television season aired in 2024 and ran for 12 episodes.
The exact 2027 date is still missing
Season 2 was once planned for 2026. In February, the production committee moved it to 2027, saying the extra time was needed to “further improve the quality.”
The new teaser confirms the year but not the month, broadcast channel or international streaming service. A specific premiere day should not be assumed until the official site announces it.
What is confirmed is the shape of the next story: Alya and Masachika spend the summer together, the student council contest continues, and Masha’s feelings make a relationship that was already difficult much harder to keep simple.
