Dengeki Daisy will begin airing in January 2027 and continue for two consecutive cours. The new announcement gives Kyousuke Motomi’s romance and mystery series a longer opening run than a single season and introduces four more members of the cast.
The original manga ran from 2007 to 2013 and has more than 5 million copies in circulation worldwide. Fans have waited years to see Teru Kurebayashi and Tasuku Kurosaki animated, and the first main trailer finally shows how Studio DEEN is approaching their story.
The two-cour plan is especially important for this adaptation. Dengeki Daisy needs time to establish Teru’s difficult life at school, build her unusual relationship with Tasuku and then open the larger mystery surrounding her brother. A shorter run could force those parts to compete for space almost immediately.
Four new voices join Teru and Tasuku
Yoshino Aoyama voices Teru, while Taku Yashiro plays Tasuku. The expanded cast adds Tomokazu Sugita as Teru’s late brother Soichiro Kurebayashi, Yuka Terasaki as school counselor Riko Onizuka, Setsuji Sato as Masuda and Kohei Amasaki as Akira.
Those characters are important to both sides of Dengeki Daisy: the emotional romance and the secrets surrounding DAISY. Their casting suggests the anime is preparing to move beyond the earliest school chapters during its two-cour run.
Teru’s phone connects her to a mystery
After Soichiro dies, Teru is left with a phone that lets her exchange messages with a mysterious person called DAISY. Those messages become a source of support while she struggles on her own.
At school, Teru crosses paths with Tasuku, a sharp-tongued custodian who makes her work to repay damage she caused. Their constant arguments gradually reveal a more complicated connection. Tasuku knows more about DAISY and Soichiro than he is willing to admit.
Studio DEEN is handling the adaptation
Sota Ueno directs the anime at Studio DEEN. Sawako Hirabayashi is in charge of series composition, Ayaka Murakami designs the characters and Masaru Yokoyama composes the music.
The trailer balances comedy, school romance and the darker mystery behind the messages. That mix is what separates Dengeki Daisy from a simple opposites-attract story. Teru and Tasuku can be funny together, but the secrets between them carry real emotional risk.
The main preview also keeps the characters’ sharper personalities intact. Teru is vulnerable without being passive, and Tasuku’s harsh behavior does not erase the concern underneath it. That balance will matter as their connection becomes more personal and the truth about DAISY moves closer to the surface.
