Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! has released its second main trailer ahead of an October debut in Japan. The new footage spends more time with Ume Mizunoe and the students who turn his attempt to improve his school record into a chaotic daily routine.
Ume is excellent at Japanese language studies but so weak in science and math that he risks repeating a year. He joins the student council to raise his internal school score. Instead of a quiet administrative job, he finds a group of classmates with strong personalities and very different ideas about how the council should work.
The trailer introduces the student council
Shogo Sakata voices Ume. Haruka Shiraishi plays council president Hisako Kotobuki, Miyu Tomita plays Komaro Michinoku, Hiyori Kono plays Tan Otori, Shizuka Ishigami plays Arisu Terui and Yumi Uchiyama plays Satomi Hiratsuka.
The anime adapts Muchimaro’s manga, which runs in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The official site says the manga won the comics category of the 2023 Next Manga Awards and has more than 2.7 million copies in circulation. The story is a school romantic comedy built around this mismatched council, not a political or strategy series.
Nanao Akari performs the ending theme
The second trailer includes part of “Pi,” the new ending song by Nanao Akari. Sho Yamamoto wrote, composed and arranged the track. Sony Music’s announcement explains that the repeated sound in the title comes from the English words “Pit” and “Personality,” matching the unusual students in the show.
The song begins short-form preview use on TikTok and YouTube Shorts on September 19 and receives a full digital release on October 7. Sangatsu no Phantasia performs the opening theme, “Kaze no Naka wa Hashirukkya Nai!”
When does the anime start?
Japanese broadcasters begin the series on October 3 at 24:30, which is 12:30 a.m. on October 4 in ordinary clock time. d Anime Store and AnimeFesta start at the same time. Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, U-NEXT and several other Japanese services begin weekly distribution on October 6 at noon in Japan. Those listings are for Japan; international availability may be different.
AT-X also begins an uncensored version on October 6 at 11:30 p.m. in Japan. The official schedule notes that broadcast and streaming times can change.
Naoyuki Tatsuwa directs at studio Passione. Ryo Imamura handles character design and chief animation direction, while Masahiro Yokotani oversees and writes the series. The new trailer gives viewers their clearest look yet at how that team is turning the manga’s quick jokes and crowded council room into animation.
