Daemons of the Shadow Realm will return for Season 2. Aniplex confirmed that another season is in production after the 24th episode completed the anime’s first run.
The announcement arrived with a short teaser that gathers Yuru, Asa and other major characters inside the same red-and-black visual used to signal the next conflict. It confirms the continuation, but it does not show a premiere date or a release window.
Season 2 is confirmed, not dated
There is no announced month, season or year for the new episodes. Aniplex also has not disclosed an episode count or said whether the next season will run for one cour or two.
That makes the current status simple: production has been announced, and the story is continuing, but any specific release date circulating online is unconfirmed.
The teaser does not introduce a new cast list. Kensho Ono voices Yuru, Yume Miyamoto voices Asa, Takako Honda voices Left, Rikiya Koyama voices Right, Yuichi Nakamura voices Dera and Miyu Shimabukuro voices Hana in the first season.
Akira Ishida, Junichi Suwabe, Shinichiro Miki and Misaki Kuno are also part of the established ensemble. The announcement imagery indicates that the broader conflict around the Kagemori family and the paired Daemons will remain central.
The first season ended after 24 episodes
Daemons of the Shadow Realm premiered in Japan on April 4 and aired as a continuous two-cour season. The anime adapts Hiromu Arakawa’s manga about twins Yuru and Asa, whose isolated village hides the truth about their family and the supernatural beings known as Daemons.
Masahiro Ando directed the first season, Noboru Takagi handled series composition, Nobuhiro Arai designed the characters and Kenichiro Suehiro composed the music. Bones Film produced the animation.
The series began with Yuru believing Asa lived safely inside the village. The arrival of armed outsiders shattered that version of their life and pushed the twins into a struggle between families, organizations and Daemon users who all know different pieces of the same secret.
What happens next
The first season leaves enough unresolved material for the anime to continue without inventing a new direction. Season 2 can follow the manga’s next phase while expanding the motives behind the families and powers already introduced.
Aniplex has not yet said whether every first-season staff member will return, even though the announcement carries the same production identity. Fans should wait for the official staff list rather than treating the first-season credits as automatic confirmation.
The important answer is now settled: Episode 24 was a season finale, not the end of the adaptation. The next update to watch for is a proper trailer with a release window, new footage and confirmed production credits.
