There are four missing children: Dino Kid, Kraken Kid, Squid Kid, and Koala Kid. Their caves do not have fixed coordinates because the forest layout changes between runs. Upgrade the campfire to reveal more terrain, check the missing-person posters for direction, mark the cave on your map, defeat every guardian outside it, collect the matching colored key, unlock the cell, and carry the child back to camp.

All four missing kids at a glance

  • Dino Kid: usually revealed around Campfire Level 2, sometimes fully visible at Level 3; guarded by five regular wolves; red key.
  • Kraken Kid: usually revealed around Campfire Level 4, sometimes fully visible at Level 5; guarded by four alpha wolves; blue key.
  • Squid Kid: usually revealed around Campfire Level 5, sometimes fully visible at Level 6; guarded by two bears; yellow key.
  • Koala Kid: revealed at Campfire Level 6; guarded by six bears; grey key.

The reveal level can vary at the edge of the map, so treat the level ranges as a search trigger rather than a guaranteed coordinate. The poster, map, and the sound of a nearby crying child are more reliable than memorizing a route from another server.

Prepare before leaving camp

  • Map and compass so you can record the cave and return by the same route.
  • Enough daylight to clear the guardians, unlock the cell, and carry the child home.
  • Food and a charged light for both directions.
  • A weapon and enough ammo for the exact guardian group.
  • Armor and healing, especially for the two bear rescues.
  • Empty sack space for the child and any key or supplies you must carry.

Do not begin the fight with a nearly full inventory. If the child cannot be carried safely or the key is lost among other drops, the entire trip becomes more difficult. Clear space at camp, then travel directly to the marked cave.

How to find a child cave on a procedural map

  1. Upgrade the campfire until the relevant region begins to appear.
  2. Read the child poster at camp for a direction and distance clue.
  3. Explore that sector during daylight and reveal the fog on the map.
  4. When the cave icon or structure appears, mark the route before starting the fight.
  5. Listen for crying when you are close; it can confirm that you reached the correct cave.
  6. Defeat every collared guardian. The last one drops the colored key.
  7. Unlock the cell, place the child in your sack, and return to the campfire area.

If darkness is approaching before the fight begins, leave the cave marked and return the next day. A saved location is progress. Starting late and losing the key, ammo, or route home is not.

A saved cave is progress. A late rescue with no route home is a new problem.

Dino Kid: red cave and five wolves

Dino Kid is normally the first rescue. His red cave appears after the early campfire upgrades, most often around Level 2 and sometimes only becoming fully visible at Level 3. Five regular wolves with red collars guard the entrance.

Use a spear, pistol, or another dependable weapon and pull one wolf away from the group at a time. Fighting all five in the same space can drain health quickly. The final guardian drops the red key. Pick it up, open the red lock, carry Dino Kid in the sack, and return him to camp.

Kraken Kid: blue cave and four alpha wolves

Kraken Kid is usually the second rescue. Her blue cave is normally revealed around Campfire Level 4, with some maps requiring Level 5 before it is easy to locate. Four blue-collared alpha wolves guard the cave.

Alpha wolves are stronger than the first group, so bring a ranged weapon, spare ammunition, and healing. Separate them instead of standing between several attack paths. The last alpha wolf drops the blue key for Kraken Kid’s cell.

Squid Kid: yellow cave and two bears

Squid Kid is usually revealed after Campfire Level 5, with some layouts requiring Level 6 for a complete reveal. Two yellow-collared bears guard the yellow cave. There are fewer enemies than at the wolf caves, but each bear takes more damage and punishes close-range mistakes.

Bring armor, extra ammo, healing, and bear traps if they are available in the run. Keep one bear separated while damaging the other, and do not fight with the cave wall blocking your escape path. The last guardian drops the yellow key.

Koala Kid: grey cave and six bears

Koala Kid is the final and hardest standard rescue. Her grey cave becomes available at Campfire Level 6 and is guarded by six bears. This is not a fight to start with basic armor, low ammunition, or only one healing item.

Prepare the route, clear the group in controlled pulls, and return to camp if night interrupts the attempt. You can finish the cave across more than one day. After the final bear drops the grey key, unlock the cell and carry Koala Kid to camp.

What changes after a rescue?

Each rescued child increases the number of days added after a night. One rescue makes the counter advance by two days per completed night, two rescues make it advance by three, and the pattern continues. That is why rescuing children can make reaching day 99 much faster even though each cave costs supplies.

The child returns to the camp area and sets up a colored tent. Current official Roblox badges also include Kraken Daycare, Squid Daycare, and Koala Daycare objectives for leveling those children to level 5. Those newer progression systems happen after the rescue and do not change the basic cave sequence above.

The Orienteering badge confirms the four-child rescue goal. The Self-Preservation badge confirms that day 99 is also possible without bringing any child to camp, while Mastery combines all four rescues with campfire, crafting, and trader progress before day 99.

Why did the key or rescue not work?

  • A guardian is still alive or separated from the visible group. Check the area before assuming the key failed to spawn.
  • The dropped key is hidden among loot, terrain, or another player’s inventory.
  • The child is unlocked but has not been carried back inside the campfire area.
  • The server state is delayed. Pause, confirm the door and inventory state, and avoid abandoning the run immediately.

If a guardian is outside the reachable map or the key never appears after every enemy is confirmed dead, that run may be bugged. Record the cave, check whether another teammate picked up the key, and retry only after ruling out the normal conditions.

Best rescue order

The intended difficulty curve is Dino Kid, Kraken Kid, Squid Kid, then Koala Kid. Follow that order on a first completion because the campfire reveal, guardian strength, and equipment needs rise together. An experienced team can discover a later cave early, but marking it is usually safer than forcing the fight with early gear.

If the camp is not ready for the first cave, return to the beginner guide for the build order, inventory checklist, and safe exploration route.
