Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world action RPG developed by CD PROJEKT RED and published by CD PROJEKT. Released in December 2020, it is set in Night City, a dense metropolis shaped by corporations, gangs, entertainment, body modification, and unequal access to technology. You play as V, a mercenary whose background, appearance, gender, attributes, and combat style can be customized. A Relic biochip carrying the engram of Johnny Silverhand creates the central survival conflict and brings personal choices into the main story.

Night City is divided into districts with different cultures, architecture, threats, and activities. The main campaign combines story missions with gigs, side jobs, vehicle travel, vendors, apartments, exploration, and optional encounters. Dialogue choices and decisions can change relationships, mission outcomes, and available endings. V can fight with firearms, smart and tech weapons, blades, fists, grenades, quickhacks, stealth, or a hybrid build. Cyberware, perks, skills, weapons, clothing, and crafting support different approaches; later updates reworked the perk trees, cyberware capacity, police response, vehicle combat, loot, and progression.

Phantom Liberty is a separate spy-thriller expansion set in Dogtown, a walled district of Night City. It adds a new storyline, characters, missions, weapons, vehicles, and the Relic skill tree, and connects to the base game's choices and systems. The Ultimate Edition combines the base game with Phantom Liberty.

The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Mac. Platform support and the availability of later updates and Phantom Liberty vary by version.
