Diablo has the clearest promise. Blizzard says the opening ceremony will reveal “extensive plans” for Sanctuary. A Diablo developer update follows at 1:45 p.m. Pacific today, and a Diablo IV: What’s Next panel begins Sunday at 11 a.m. Pacific.
That wording points to more than a routine balance patch. Fans are debating a return for Baal and another class, but Blizzard has not named either one. Any image or title circulating before the show should stay in the rumor column until it appears on an official channel.
Is StarCraft finally getting new game news?
StarCraft is the hardest part of the show to predict. Blizzard changed the official site with deliberate glitch effects and hidden lore messages before BlizzCon. The timing strongly suggests an announcement, though the clues do not say whether it is a new game, an update to an older title, or something outside games.
Reports have linked Blizzard to a StarCraft shooter. That project has not been announced, and the site changes do not prove the shooter is what Blizzard plans to show.
