When does Wo Long 2 come out?
The worldwide release date is March 4, 2027. Team NINJA’s official site lists the date alongside all four launch platforms, while the new release-date trailer focuses on the Three Kingdoms story and phoenix-powered protagonist.
The game is being developed by Team NINJA and published by Koei Tecmo. Its PC release will be sold through Steam and the Microsoft Store. Xbox players can also use Xbox Play Anywhere, and the game is scheduled to join Xbox Game Pass at launch.
The complete launch information is also collected on the Wo Long 2 game page, including platforms, official media and confirmed gameplay features.
What is included in the Wo Long 2 Alpha Demo?
The Alpha Demo lets players enter part of Changban, one of the battlefields featured in the full game. Character creation and multiplayer co-op are enabled, so the test covers both a custom protagonist and online play rather than limiting access to a fixed showcase character.
The demo is temporary. It remains playable through September 30 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, but there is no Switch 2 version listed. Team NINJA is also collecting survey feedback while development continues.
Defeating the boss Wuzhiqi unlocks the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet for the full game. The announcement confirms that reward, but it does not say that general save progress or a created character will transfer.
How combat changes in Wo Long 2
Wo Long 2 keeps the series focus on Chinese martial arts, fast offense and timed defense. Players can still deflect incoming attacks and use Martial Arts abilities, but the sequel adds Insight Skills that change what the protagonist can do during a fight.
Insight Skills can stop and counter attacks, drive enemies into walls or slam airborne attackers to the ground. These moves give the player several responses after reading an enemy instead of making every successful defense lead to the same action.
The current demo is the first public chance to test that system. Team NINJA has not published a complete weapon list, skill tree or progression breakdown, so the available build should not be treated as the final balance of the March release.
Changban and the Red Cliffs become open battlefields
The sequel presents famous locations such as Changban and the Red Cliffs as broad, open battlefields. Enemy strongholds and demonic lairs are placed across the maps, and the player can choose how to approach them instead of following one fixed path through every encounter.
Confirmed options include flanking enemy lines, capturing bases, setting traps and recruiting enemy generals. The story uses a dark fantasy version of the Three Kingdoms, with demons appearing inside historical conflicts and the protagonist carrying the power of the phoenix.

Preorders and Digital Deluxe Edition contents
Preorders are open. Digital preorders include the Creator Goddess Garb set. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds the Season Pass, a digital art book and a digital mini soundtrack. Team NINJA says the Season Pass covers two major downloadable content releases planned after the base game.
The Xbox Game Pass version does not include preorder or edition bonuses. Players who want an armor set, soundtrack, art book or future DLC should check the exact store listing for their platform before choosing an edition.
More confirmed release dates and playable demos are available in the Games section and the latest News feed.
