WARDOGS has sold two million copies less than a week after entering Steam Early Access. Developer BULKHEAD announced the milestone on September 15, five days after the large-scale tactical shooter launched on September 10.

The studio thanked players and said it had made a game the team wanted to play with friends. The milestone measures paid copies, not concurrent players, and the developer did not attach a revenue figure or a new player-count record to the announcement.

WARDOGS reached two million sales in five days

The official WARDOGS account posted the two-million figure on September 15. Two independent reports tied that announcement to the September 10 Early Access release, placing the milestone within the game’s first five days on sale.

BULKHEAD had previously announced one million copies sold shortly after launch. Reaching the next million so quickly gives WARDOGS a large starting audience while the game is still unfinished and changing through Early Access.

  • Early Access launch: September 10, 2026.
  • Platform: Windows PC through Steam.
  • Reported sales: Two million copies as of September 15.
  • Development status: Early Access, not version 1.0.

What the sales number does and does not show

Copies sold is different from the number of people playing at the same moment. A sale can remain in the total after the buyer logs off, and Steam’s refund rules can also affect how publishers describe commercial milestones. BULKHEAD’s public post did not provide a net-sales definition.

The announcement also did not reveal regional sales, edition splits or revenue. The confirmed claim is limited to the worldwide two-million-copy total shared by the game’s official account.

What players are buying in Early Access

WARDOGS is a first-person tactical shooter built around battles with up to 100 players divided among three teams. Squads fight over changing control zones while infantry, vehicles, logistics and construction all contribute to the same match.

Players earn cash and experience through combat and support actions such as revives, transport and repairs. Those resources fund weapons, equipment and vehicles when they redeploy, so battlefield support can affect later fights even when a player is not leading the kill count.

WARDOGS is still an unfinished game

The Steam listing labels the current build as Early Access. BULKHEAD says maps, balance, progression and performance can change during development, and its current estimate places the Early Access period at roughly one to two years.

That estimate is not a fixed 1.0 release date. The studio plans more maps, weapons, vehicles and progression systems, but future features should not be treated as part of the build available today.

Where WARDOGS is available now

WARDOGS is currently sold for Windows PC through Steam. The store page lists BULKHEAD as developer and Team17 as publisher. No console version appears on the official store page checked after the sales announcement.

The game uses online multiplayer and proximity voice chat. Players should check the live Steam requirements and recent update notes before buying because hardware guidance and Early Access behavior can change.
