Mafia: Definitive Edition is now available natively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with 60 FPS gameplay. The current-gen version launched August 14, 2026, alongside Mafia: The Omertà Collection.

What changes on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

The current-gen console version supports 60 FPS, increased resolution, reduced load times, and additional bug fixes. 2K describes it as the same Mafia: Definitive Edition released in 2020, so this is a native upgrade rather than a remake of the remake.

2K has not published an exact resolution target or a full patch-by-patch breakdown. The official announcement also does not list equivalent current-gen 60 FPS upgrades for Mafia II: Definitive Edition or Mafia III: Definitive Edition.

Are Mafia II and Mafia III 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?

No new 60 FPS upgrade for Mafia II: Definitive Edition or Mafia III: Definitive Edition was announced as part of this release. The Omertà Collection includes both sequels and their DLC, but 2K’s current-gen performance announcement names only Mafia: Definitive Edition for 60 FPS, increased resolution, shorter load times, and bug fixes.

The lack of save transfer is the main catch. PS4 and Xbox One save files cannot move into the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S versions. Returning players can upgrade the game, but they will need to begin Tommy Angelo's story again.

Who gets the free upgrade

PlayStation owners have the simplest path. Anyone who owns Mafia: Definitive Edition on PS4, physically or digitally, can download the PS5 digital version at no extra cost.

On Xbox, the free digital upgrade is available to owners of the digital Xbox One version. The offer does not cover physical Xbox One copies. A separate download is required on both platforms, and 2K limits the offer to one per customer.

You do not need to buy The Omertà Collection just to get the 60 FPS version if your existing copy qualifies. The bundle is a separate purchase built around owning the full series.

Everything included in Mafia: The Omertà Collection

The bundle contains four games and their major add-ons:

  • Mafia: The Old Country Definitive Edition, including the Man of Honor expansion and Deluxe Edition content.
  • Mafia: Definitive Edition, with the native PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version on those consoles.
  • Mafia II: Definitive Edition, including all DLC.
  • Mafia III: Definitive Edition, including all DLC.

Mafia: The Old Country Definitive Edition replaces the old Deluxe Edition. Its biggest addition is the Man of Honor expansion, which adds two story chapters and new Free Ride content.

The collection covers four different eras, from Sicily in 1904 through New Bordeaux in 1968. It is also digital-only, so there is no physical four-game set to place beside the older Mafia: Trilogy box.

What happened to the Omertà Collection introductory price?

The limited introductory price has ended. 2K launched The Omertà Collection at $49.99, with the offer ending August 28 on Steam and PS5 and August 25 on Xbox Series X|S. The current price may differ by region and storefront, so check the platform store before buying.

Steam uses Complete Your Collection pricing, automatically lowering the price when one or more included games are already owned. PlayStation and Xbox also offer discounts for players who own Mafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II: Definitive Edition, or Mafia III: Definitive Edition on the same platform.

Owning Mafia: The Old Country on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S unlocks a larger discount. PlayStation users need to check through a browser, the PlayStation App, or a PS5 because the new collection will not appear on the PS4 storefront.

Is the collection worth buying if you already own Mafia?

If all you want is Mafia: Definitive Edition at 60 FPS, check whether your current copy qualifies for the free upgrade before buying anything. That is the cleanest option for returning players, even with the missing save transfer.

The collection makes more sense when several games are missing from your library or when you also want The Old Country and Man of Honor. Mixed ownership is where the storefront discount becomes important, because there is no single price that fits every account.
