Fisch has more than 200 rods, but most players do not need a ranking for every old event reward. They need to know which rod is worth chasing now, which upgrades help during progression, and which expensive rods can be skipped.
Noiseform is the strongest all-round target in the current version. Olympian Godbreaker is the safer permanent goal for making money, while Carbon Rod is still the easiest useful purchase for a new player. Fabulous Rod and Requiem are also among the strongest obtainable endgame choices.

Fisch Rod Tier List
S+ Tier: Noiseform, Olympian Godbreaker, Fabulous Rod, and Requiem. These are the best current targets for players who already have access to late-game areas and difficult quests.
S Tier: Masterline, Ruinous Oath, Verdant Oath, Onirifalx, and Plaguereaver. Each can perform at an endgame level, but the grind, minigame difficulty, or special requirements make them less practical for some players.
A Tier: Crowbar Rod, Ethereal Prism Rod, Luminescent Oath, Great Rod of Oscar, and Rod of the Depths. These rods are strong upgrades or specialists. Oscar is especially useful for XP, while Crowbar has a multiplayer-focused ability.
B Tier: Trident Rod, King's Rod, Steady Rod, Carbon Rod, and Cheeto Rod. These are progression rods. They can make the next part of the game easier, but players will eventually replace them.
Castbound, SOULREAPER, Lullaby, and Astraeus Serenade remain strong for owners. They are not placed with the normal tiers because new players cannot reliably obtain them now.
Best Rods for Each Part of the Game
- Early game: get the free Cheeto Rod or buy Carbon Rod for 2,000C$. Move to Steady Rod when you have 7,000C$ and want easier heavy catches.
- Mid game: King's Rod costs 100,000C$. Trident Rod costs 150,000C$ and also requires the complete Desolate Deep bestiary plus five Enchant Relics.
- Late game: Rod of the Depths costs 750,000C$. Great Rod of Oscar becomes available at level 250 and costs 2,500,000C$, making it a strong XP choice.
- Endgame: work toward Requiem, Olympian Godbreaker, Fabulous Rod, or Noiseform. Masterline is better treated as a long completion goal than a first endgame purchase.
Do not spend only because a rod costs more. A cheaper rod that matches the current goal can be more useful. Great Rod of Oscar helps with XP, Requiem helps with hard catches, and Olympian Godbreaker is a dependable money target.
How to Get the Best Endgame Rods
Noiseform has no normal shop price. Its long quest begins by activating cyan candles in the Shady Bazaar during a Cursed Storm. The later steps require mutated fish, the Restricted Noiseform, a Compact Disc from Hawaii, a grave obstacle course, and a final list for the Awakened Witch. It was still obtainable on July 30, but the game labels it Limited.
Olympian Godbreaker costs 50,000,000C$ in the Olympian Fissure. Complete all six Wrath of Olympus bestiaries before buying it. Current instructions also list the Olympian Devil catch. Some players say the personal catch is not always required, so completing it remains the safer approach.
Requiem requires level 1000 and 15,000,000C$. It is crafted in the Ancient Archives with five Requies Essences, one Requiem Core, one Awakened Omnithal, and one Fossilized Plesiosaur.
Fabulous Rod requires level 1000 and four quest sets from the Fabulous Deity in the Calm Zone. The tasks include rare mutations and large catch totals. Recent updates show a major buff to its Fabulous mutation chance, which moved the rod back near the top.
Best Rod for Money, XP, and Difficult Fish
Use Olympian Godbreaker as the main permanent money goal. Noiseform can be stronger overall, but its Limited label and longer quest make Godbreaker easier to recommend as a stable target. Great Rod of Oscar is the practical XP choice because of its XP bonus and level 250 requirement. Requiem is useful when control and fast hunt catches are more important than the highest possible profit.
Is Masterline the best rod?
Masterline can become one of the strongest rods after Absolute Mastery, but getting there requires level 1000, the eligible permanent Bestiary and Rod Journal, and 129 rod masteries. Its copied passive is also random. Most players will get more immediate value from one of the S+ rods before finishing that grind.
What should a beginner buy first?
Start with Carbon Rod, then buy Steady Rod if heavy fish are causing problems. The free Cheeto Rod is a useful alternative, but its 500kg limit means it will not replace later progression rods. Save expensive purchases for a clear goal instead of buying every rod in order.
