Dragon's Dogma 2 is heading north. Dark Arisen releases October 9, 2026, adding the snowy region of Norgan, a new story involving Eir and the Fallen Dragon, 12 dungeon challenges, forgotten relics, new weapons and skills, and more character-creation options.
Capcom is selling Dark Arisen in two forms: a complete package containing Dragon's Dogma 2 and the expansion, and a separate expansion for players who already own the base game. It is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The expansion shares a name with the expanded edition of the original Dragon's Dogma, but this is new content made for Dragon's Dogma 2. You do not need to buy the 2013 game to play it.

Capcom's Japanese PC store lists the expansion becoming available at 9:00 a.m. JST on launch day. That does not automatically confirm one simultaneous global unlock, so check the PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, or Steam listing in your region for the local time.
Preorders are already available on selected storefronts. Capcom warns that product keys and preorder items may be delivered closer to launch rather than immediately after purchase.

Nintendo Switch 2 is the new platform in this release. Capcom says its Switch 2 version combines the base game and expansion in one package.

What is Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen?

Forgotten relics, new weapons, and skills
Exploring Norgan lets you unearth and appraise forgotten relics. Those relics unlock powerful new weapons and skills for the journey.
The wording suggests a progression system tied to finding and evaluating old equipment, but Capcom has not published a complete weapon list or named the new skills. It is also unclear whether every vocation receives new tools or whether some rewards are shared across classes.
Players should expect the expansion to reward exploration instead of placing every new item in a normal shop. Exact locations, upgrade materials, and vocation recommendations will become guide targets once the expansion is available.
Lost Rites adds 12 dungeon challenges
Dark Arisen also adds Lost Rites: Prove Yourself with 12 Dungeon Challenges to the main area.
These newly uncovered dungeons contain rare equipment once owned by past Arisens. Capcom calls them the Pathfinder's trials and presents them as tests for players who want harder fights and legendary treasure.
The official store page confirms 12 challenges but does not publish their names, locations, recommended order, boss list, or whether Pawns can enter every trial. Community analysis of trailers can suggest possibilities, but those details should stay unconfirmed until Capcom explains the rules or the game launches.
New hairstyles and tattoos
The expansion adds new hairstyles and tattoos to Dragon's Dogma 2's character creator. The options can be used to further customize the Arisen and Pawns.

Dark Arisen preorder bonus
The listed preorder bonus is the Norgan Fashion Set — Northern Attire. Capcom notes that it may become available separately later, so it is not necessarily a permanently exclusive outfit.
