Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has released its first full scene, and a routine Night City job goes bad almost immediately. Netflix’s new “Cyberpsycho” clip puts Weak and Roman Carax in the middle of an ambush that leaves Weak covered in blood.
Earlier trailers introduced the new crew in quick cuts. This scene gives the characters time to talk before the shooting starts, then shows how fast a job can collapse in this version of Night City.
What happens in the Cyberpsycho clip?
Weak, Roman, and their group find themselves surrounded by armed attackers. The clip does not explain who hired them or why the attack begins, but it quickly turns into a close-range fight with heavy gunfire and cyberware on display.
Weak survives the worst of it, although the final image makes survival look painful rather than heroic. The footage also supports the harsher tone CD PROJEKT RED and TRIGGER have been promising for the new story.
Who are Weak and Roman?
Weak was once known as King, a veteran edgerunner at the top of his field. He now lives without chrome and is searching for a purpose after Night City moved on without him. Kentaro Tone voices him in Japanese.
Roman Carax is a young filmmaker obsessed with recording real stories in a city that prefers braindance. Momoka Terasawa provides his Japanese voice. The rest of the main group includes Koki Uchiyama as the revenge-driven netrunner D and Akari Kito as Talia, a former corpo child shaped by Maelstrom.
Who is making Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2?
CD PROJEKT RED and animation studio TRIGGER are returning. Kai Ikarashi directs, Kanno Ichigo leads the character design, and Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka return to the story team.
The new season is a standalone 10-episode story set in the same world as the first anime. It follows new characters rather than continuing David Martinez’s story.
