Rose is Trevor Belmont’s daughter and the playable hero of Belmont’s Curse. The story takes place in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Trevor enters Paris with Rose after monstrous creatures appear in the city, but the official setup soon pulls her into a conspiracy beneath the larger attack.
That time jump lets the game continue the Belmont family story without simply repeating Trevor’s journey. Rose inherits the Vampire Killer, yet the official material frames this as her growth rather than a tour through her father’s history. The trailer reinforces that idea by making her the person facing the new crisis directly.
How does Belmont’s Curse play?
Belmont’s Curse is described as a 2D action-exploration game with faster and more fluid movement. The whip strikes enemies, swings Rose across gaps, and helps open routes through the map. That makes traversal part of the combat language instead of treating the Vampire Killer as a weapon used only while standing on the ground.
KONAMI also lists seven weapon categories, Relics with offensive and defensive effects, and an Arcana system. Defeated bosses are sealed into tarot cards, allowing Rose to use their abilities for spells and special actions. The full balance between weapons, Relics, and Arcana will only be clear after release, but the systems already point to more player choice than a single fixed whip combo.

For anyone specifically checking co-op, the current Xbox product page classifies Belmont’s Curse as single-player and does not list online or local co-op. That is the confirmed store status now; if KONAMI announces another mode later, the answer can change, but players should not buy the game expecting multiplayer based on the current listings.
