Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV is a free two-part update. Part one arrives in October 2026 with Sportsland SUGO, six cars and major garage features. Part two follows in December 2026 with Autumn Ring, six more cars, Family Mode, Shuffle Race and Online Drift Trial. Polyphony Digital has not announced exact release days or the 12 car names yet.
The September State of Play revealed far more than two tracks. Spec IV reorganizes parts of the car-collecting experience, expands progression and adds new ways to race online. The useful way to read the announcement is month by month — and to separate what is confirmed from what still needs an October follow-up.

Everything confirmed for the October Spec IV update
October is the collecting and progression half of Spec IV. It adds the first six cars and a new opening cinematic, but most of its named features focus on finding, viewing and learning about cars.
- Sportsland SUGO: a Japanese technical circuit known for elevation changes, a flowing layout and the Dunlop bridge.
- Six new cars: the first half of the 12-car lineup. No official names have been published.
- Vintage: a section for cars that can no longer be bought new.
- Car Concierge: a service for ordering Used and Legend cars.
- Experience: brand-specific driving challenges.
- Car Viewer: a dedicated way to admire cars already in the garage.
- Collector Level: the current cap will increase.
Polyphony has not said how the Vintage stock rotates, whether Concierge orders have waiting periods or prices, or what rewards Experience challenges provide. Those details are expected with the next presentation rather than being safely inferred from screenshots.

What Sportsland SUGO adds
Sportsland SUGO is the only entirely new circuit named for October. The real Japanese venue has substantial elevation changes, and the official images show the circuit’s compact, technical character rather than a wide high-speed oval.
The announcement does not state how many layouts, events or licenses use SUGO at launch. It also does not name a separate paid track pack: the circuit is part of the free Spec IV update.
Everything confirmed for the December Spec IV update
December is the play-mode half. It supplies the remaining six cars, brings back a legacy circuit and adds options for beginners, randomized racing and worldwide drift competition.
- Autumn Ring: the original circuit returns with its familiar layout and a greatly expanded configuration.
- Six more cars: bringing the Spec IV total to 12.
- Family Mode: a beginner-friendly starting point intended for players of different ages and experience levels.
- Shuffle Race: a luck-based race with randomized cars and conditions.
- Online Drift Trial: worldwide drift competition focused on control, precision and style.
- Gran Turismo Sophy: the next evolution of the game’s racing AI.
- Power Pack: a new difficulty level for advanced players.

How Autumn Ring is changing
Autumn Ring first appeared in the original Gran Turismo, making its return the nostalgia anchor for December. Spec IV includes both the recognizable old layout and a new configuration that Polyphony describes as greatly expanded.
A layout image, lap length and event list have not been published. The official screenshots confirm the autumn setting and circuit branding, but they are not enough to calculate a route or predict race classes.
Which 12 cars are in Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV?
The official car list is not announced yet. Polyphony confirms only the split: six cars in October and six in December. The announcement gallery shows several vehicles, but neither the PlayStation Blog nor the Gran Turismo page assigns official model names to that gallery.
That distinction matters because visual identification can be wrong when a racing car has concept styling, a fictional specification or a closely related road model. This page will add the verified names when Polyphony publishes them, not convert fan guesses into a list.
Is Family Mode local co-op or split-screen?
That has not been confirmed. Family Mode is a beginner-friendly mode designed for families and players with different skill levels, but the announcement does not define its player count, local split-screen rules, online requirements or relationship to the existing two-player mode.
The base Gran Turismo 7 product page separately lists one to two players and up to 20 online players with PS Plus. Those are current whole-game limits, not proof that Family Mode itself supports two people simultaneously.

How Shuffle Race and Online Drift Trial work
Shuffle Race introduces randomized cars and conditions. The PlayStation Blog describes it as an online race format built around adaptation, while the Gran Turismo page calls it luck-based. The idea is to reduce the advantage of preparing one optimized car before every event.

Online Drift Trial is the more specialized competitive feature. Players will compare drifting control, precision and style against others worldwide. Polyphony has not yet published scoring rules, matchmaking divisions, event duration or whether PS Plus is handled differently from the game’s existing online modes.

Is Gran Turismo 7 single-player, co-op or multiplayer?
Gran Turismo 7 supports single-player, local two-player and online multiplayer. Its solo campaign includes GT Campaign, Arcade and Driving School. The PlayStation listing allows one to two local players and up to 20 online players with PS Plus.
Most functionality requires an internet connection, although Polyphony’s product page says Arcade Mode remains available offline. Spec IV adds online Shuffle Races and Online Drift Trials, while the exact multiplayer behavior of Family Mode remains an open question.
When will Polyphony reveal the exact dates and cars?
The next confirmed information point is October 3, 2026, during Gran Turismo World Series Round 3 in Singapore. Polyphony says more details about the October and December updates will be revealed there.
An October showcase does not guarantee that every December car or exact release day will be announced at once. Until a first-party post supplies those details, both parts should be treated as month-long windows.
