Is Until Dawn 2 single-player or co-op?
Every published description presents Until Dawn 2 as a choice-driven offline story campaign in which the player controls decisions for members of Dead True. PlayStation also lists offline play in its accessibility information. There is no announced co-op, online multiplayer, competitive mode or shared-screen mode.
Sony has not yet added a formal “1 player” capacity line to the public product page, so the safest current answer is that the game is designed and described as a solo/offline narrative experience while the exact store metadata remains incomplete. A later PlayStation Store listing could make that player-count label explicit.

Dead True makes paranormal investigations for an online audience. The eight-person crew includes Owen, Mina, Nate, Reagan, Izzy, Luke, Josie and Cameron. Their job changes the stakes: they are not only deciding whether a place is dangerous, but also which risk will produce a better episode and how far to push the story before the story pushes back.
The new trailer returns to Blackwood Sanitorium, where the group films an episode about the tragedy that happened twelve years earlier. Izzy finds evidence that changes the plan. The crew later meets Yoona, a survivor of a supernatural attack whose scar points them toward Akishima Island in the South Pacific.
The island’s luxury resort has been closed since the 1970s. Its tropical setting deliberately replaces the original game’s snowbound mountain, while the standalone format means newcomers do not need to play the first Until Dawn to understand Dead True’s story.

How the choices work in the new story
The trailer shows choices that mix survival with content creation. Owen can follow a signal to help his missing friend Nate or cross an unstable bridge toward a surprisingly lively bar. The detour may reveal a clue, but leaving Nate behind can change his danger and the group’s relationships.
Another decision asks Mina to perform a ritual sacrifice for the network. The player can use the crew’s chicken or refuse and risk offering Mina’s blood instead. Firesprite says small conversations, missed leads and relationship changes can alter later outcomes, not only the obvious life-or-death prompts.
The official game page promises several possible endings. That makes replayability part of the design: a second run can follow different leads, protect different relationships and expose consequences hidden by the first route.
Until Dawn 2 preorder bonuses
Preorders open September 10 for both the Standard and Digital Deluxe editions. Sony has announced three preorder items: a classic Until Dawn outfit, an Akishima Island holiday outfit and Dr. Hill collector’s bobbleheads hidden through the game.
The announcement does not say that one platform, retailer or edition receives a different preorder set. Buyers should still verify the final store listing before purchase because regional availability and retailer wording can change.
What is in the Digital Deluxe Edition?
- Y2K Neon Vibes Pack: alternate looks for all eight members of Dead True.
- Diorama of Death: collectible vignettes that show different angles on the characters’ possible fatal outcomes.
Sony has not announced any story expansion, early access, season pass or gameplay advantage for the Digital Deluxe Edition. The currently listed extras are cosmetic and collectible presentation content.
How much does Until Dawn 2 cost?
The price is not announced. Sony has confirmed two editions and a preorder date, but neither the PlayStation Blog nor the official game page lists a US, UK, Canadian, Australian or European amount.
Any retailer placeholder or comparison with the first game should be treated as an estimate until the September 10 listings go live. Pixel Twelve will update the same page when Sony publishes official regional prices.
Is Until Dawn 2 coming to PC, Xbox or Switch?
Only PlayStation 5 is announced. Sony and Firesprite have not revealed a PC edition, Xbox version, Nintendo Switch 2 port or last-generation PS4 release. The confirmed product page also lists Remote Play, DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers, PS5 Pro enhancements and 26 accessibility features.
A platform appearing plausible is not confirmation. Until an official publisher or store page names another system, PS5 remains the only announced launch platform.
