Your first spring does not need to produce a perfect farm. Start with crops you can water comfortably, leave time to explore, and keep useful items before selling everything. This route is for a standard, unmodded save; remixed bundles and different farm layouts can change parts of the opening.
Day one: plant a small field, not the whole farm
The Standard Farm is a straightforward first choice if you want plenty of crop space. Your layout cannot be changed after starting. Most layouts give you 15 Parsnip Seeds; the Meadowlands Farm instead starts with a coop, two chickens and hay, so do not look for the same seed package there.
Clear a small area near the house, hoe the soil, plant and water. Parsnips take four days to mature when watered each day. Missing water normally delays growth rather than killing the plant. Keep the field small enough that watering leaves energy for another activity; clearing every tree and rock immediately is not necessary.
Use the same short routine each morning
Check the television and your mailbox, water crops that need it, then choose one main outing. A mine run, a fishing trip or a walk around town is easier to finish than trying to do all three. The weather forecast helps you plan the next day, and rainy days free you from ordinary outdoor watering.
Watch both the clock and your energy. The day starts at 6am and ends with forced sleep at 2am. Aim to be in bed by midnight for a simpler recovery routine, and allow time to walk home. Remaining energy does not let you stay awake past 2am. Passing out outside your home can cost gold.

Once the mines open, aim for the next elevator stop
The mines become accessible on Spring 5. Take food and leave inventory space for ore and other finds. The elevator saves access at five-floor intervals, making the next checkpoint a useful target for a short trip. Reaching one safely is more valuable than pushing deeper with almost no health.
Mining and fighting use different resources: watch health during combat and energy while breaking rocks. Turn back before either becomes an emergency. A rainy day is a convenient opportunity to explore because fewer farm chores compete for your time; it is not a requirement for entering.
Keep the crops your bundles need

For the standard Spring Crops Bundle, set aside one parsnip, green bean, cauliflower and potato. Do not confuse this with the separate Quality Crops Bundle. Check the actual bundle screen before donating or selling; remixed settings may change the requests, and some bundles let you choose among more items than their available slots.
Once bundle tracking is available, use the golden-scroll button in the player menu to check progress without walking back to the building. Saving a needed crop now can prevent a long wait for its season to return. You do not have to finish the entire Community Center during your first spring.
Choose tomorrow’s task before buying more seeds
If watering already consumes the morning, expand later. If your inventory is constantly full, prioritize storage and leave unnecessary tools at home for focused trips. If you want to meet people, carry a gift whose preference you have checked instead of giving away valuable items at random.
Before buying another batch late in the season, read the seed’s growth time and season description. A full field is not useful if the crop cannot finish before its growing season ends. Keep some gold for the next planting cycle rather than spending every coin just because seeds are available.
