Scrubs returns with two new episodes on Wednesday, September 30, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The second season of the revival starts with “My First Time in a While” at 8 p.m. and continues with “My Mentee” at 8:31 p.m. Both episodes stream the next day on Hulu in the United States.
J.D., Turk and Elliot are back at Sacred Heart, but the hospital is not the same place they knew as interns. They now have younger doctors looking to them for help. ABC’s new episode descriptions put that mentorship front and center, while bringing Dr. Cox into the premiere story.
What happens in the first two episodes?
In “My First Time in a While,” J.D. asks Turk and Elliot to help care for Dr. Cox. ABC says Elliot also gets a boost of confidence after years of working at Sacred Heart. The network has not shared every detail of Cox’s condition, so the episode itself will answer how serious it is.
The second episode, “My Mentee,” follows J.D. as an attempt to work around an insurance problem creates tension with a doctor he is mentoring. Elliot tries to help Dr. Sam Tosh choose a specialty, and Turk takes on a mentoring role of his own. ABC schedules this episode immediately after the premiere, so viewers can watch the two stories together.

Who’s who at Sacred Heart
Zach Braff plays J.D., Donald Faison plays Turk and Sarah Chalke plays Elliot. The first-episode photos also show John C. McGinley as Dr. Cox. Ava Bunn plays Sam Tosh, one of the newer doctors. ABC describes the revival as a 30-minute comedy about the former interns helping a new generation at Sacred Heart.
Bill Lawrence, who created the original Scrubs, is an executive producer on the revival. Braff, Faison and Chalke also executive produce. Aseem Batra is the showrunner. These credits matter because this is a continuation with its original leads, not a separate show using the same hospital name.
The revival itself began on February 25, 2026, with a two-episode ABC premiere. Its first season finished in April. If you have not watched those episodes, they introduce the current Sacred Heart staff and show how the three familiar doctors settled into their new jobs before this September return.

In the U.S., ABC airs the two-episode premiere September 30, starting at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. ABC says episodes will stream the next day on Hulu. The network’s Scrubs page also lists episodes and clips to watch through ABC, though access may depend on your TV provider or location.
The next announced episode is “My Ex’s Ex” on October 7, followed by “My Chief” on October 14. Those dates come from ABC’s episode schedule. Later installments have not all been detailed, so do not assume the entire season arrives on Hulu at once.
