What happens in the finale?
The CW says Spencer James faces one of the hardest days of his life. Olivia Baker turns to her mother while deciding what to do next. Friends and family from Crenshaw and Beverly come together as the series wraps up. That is all the network has confirmed about the plot, so we do not know exactly how Spencer's story ends before the episode airs.
Daniel Ezra plays Spencer and Samantha Logan plays Olivia. Ezra also directed the finale. Nkechi Okoro Carroll and Jamie Turner wrote it. Having Ezra behind the camera for the last episode gives the lead actor a second role in the show's goodbye.
Who is coming back?
The final-season cast brings together familiar faces from both communities. Bre-Z plays Coop, Spencer's close friend. Michael Evans Behling plays Jordan Baker, and Greta Onieogou plays Layla. Monet Mazur plays Laura Baker, Olivia and Jordan's mother. The network's episode description promises a gathering of old and new friends, but it does not list every appearance. Do not assume an unannounced character returns just because fans hope to see them.
