Ranked RIVALS uses stricter match rules, an ELO ladder, placements, map bans, and weapon bans. Players who enter with only one practiced gun can lose their plan before the first round begins.

This guide was checked on July 30, 2026. Ranked requirements and season rules have changed before, so the prompt inside the game should be treated as the final instruction when it differs from an older guide.

How to Unlock Ranked

  • Reach level 100 in RIVALS.
  • Complete 10 standard duels. Wins and losses both count.
  • Complete at least 30 RIVALS tasks.
  • Use a Roblox account that is at least 14 days old.
  • Complete the account trust or verification requirement shown by the Ranked screen.

The account check can use different trust paths. Do not spend Robux or submit identification only because an online article says it is required. Open Ranked, read the current blocked requirement, and use the account option shown by Roblox or the game.

After qualifying, players complete 10 placement matches before a starting rank appears. Previous ranked history can affect returning players. Placement results matter, but the developers have not published a complete formula for every factor used to set the first rank.

Complete placements with the loadouts and teammates that will be used after placement whenever possible. Placements are not a separate tutorial, and opponents can already understand the map and ban system. Solo players should use short, clear calls such as the target name, location, and health instead of trying to explain a full plan during a round.

Ranks and ELO

  • Bronze starts at 0 ELO.
  • Silver starts at 600 ELO.
  • Gold starts at 1,200 ELO.
  • Platinum starts at 1,800 ELO.
  • Diamond starts at 2,400 ELO.
  • Onyx starts at 3,000 ELO.
  • Nemesis starts at 3,600 ELO.
  • Archnemesis is reserved for the top 200 players.

Bronze through Onyx have three divisions, separated by 200 ELO. Wins add ELO and losses remove it. Opponent strength affects the result, so two players can receive different gains after similar matches. Kills, damage, MVP awards, and win streaks should not be described as fixed ELO bonuses because a complete current formula is not public.

What Changes in Ranked Matches

Ranked supports 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3. Teams remove maps from a small selection and can ban weapons before the duel. The default Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists, and Grenade normally remain available unless every player owns enough alternatives in that category.

Third-person mode is disabled. Aim assist is reduced by 50%, Auto Shoot is limited to Dynamic, and loadout changes are limited during the duel. Practice under those restrictions before placements if casual settings are doing part of the work.

Map bans should remove the location that hurts the team's practiced loadouts, not simply the map one player dislikes. Open maps favor different weapons than narrow maps, while vertical maps reward players who can reach and protect higher positions. Keep at least one loadout for each type so the remaining map does not decide the duel before it starts.

Players below Platinum I receive one daily ELO Shield after placements. The shield prevents ELO loss for one match, is consumed whether the match is won or lost, and does not stack. Onyx I and higher can lose 100 ELO per day after seven inactive days, stopping at the bottom of Onyx. Leaving a match causes an automatic loss and a temporary matchmaking lockout.

How to Climb More Consistently

  • Practice two Primary weapons so one ban does not remove the whole plan.
  • Learn the ranked map pool and the common first angles on open, tight, and vertical maps.
  • Warm up in the Shooting Range or normal duels before starting placements.
  • Reload behind cover and stop repeating the same route after the opponent reads it.
  • In team modes, attack the same target and call out low health, reloads, and weapon swaps.
  • End the session when concentration drops. More matches do not help if every round starts with the same mistake.

Use the Roblox RIVALS Weapon Tier List to build a main and backup loadout. Players still unlocking weapons can use the RIVALS Keys Guide for the fastest free Key methods.

Update 21 hides enemy ranks until a duel ends and changed placements for returning players. It also continued work on matchmaking, ELO, and ranked rewards. Check the current season panel before chasing a specific cosmetic or Glory reward.

Ranked progress becomes easier to understand when the goal is one clean round at a time. Prepare backup weapons, learn the maps that actually appear, and avoid guessing how hidden ELO calculations work. The match result remains the part players can control most directly.
