Raji is not fighting alone this time. A new developer-commentary video shown during Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 presentation gives Raji: Kaliyuga’s two playable siblings room to show what each can do. Raji moves fast with her Trishul and close-range attacks. Darsh bends energy, gravity and time. Their differences are the clearest reason to pay attention to this sequel.
Game director Avichal Singh explains the footage as a look at the people behind the spectacular attacks. Six years have passed since Raji: An Ancient Epic. Mahabalasura has opened the gates of heaven too soon, and war now reaches mortals, gods and asuras. The siblings head toward the Eternal Summit while the world around them comes apart.
What changes when you play as Darsh?
Raji remains the agile fighter: the divine Trishul, acrobatic martial arts, attack combinations and evasive movement keep her close to an enemy. Darsh is called a dreamwalker. His Siddhi powers affect the space around a fight, including gravity, time and energy. The developer says the game swaps between the siblings as the story requires, rather than asking players to choose one for the whole adventure.
Darsh can change where enemies move or how they are held in place, while Raji closes the gap. The official gameplay materials also describe a customized evasion system for the two characters. Those mechanics make their bond more than a plot device. The interesting test will be whether switching from physical combat to unusual powers stays satisfying in a full encounter.
A much bigger world than the first game
The new footage is in third person and shows battles amid ruined structures, strange figures and creatures touched by mythology. It is a noticeable shift from the presentation of An Ancient Epic. A scene with giant ornamented faces gives the siblings a sense of scale; another puts Raji beside a wall shot through with purple energy. The setting looks made for exploration as well as combat.
Nodding Heads has already introduced the sequel’s premise in earlier updates, so the fresh value here is seeing its director walk through the action. The video is not a playable demo or proof of how every encounter will work. It does make the pair’s contrasting abilities easier to picture than a list of features does.
When can you play it?
There is no announced release day yet. The studio lists PC storefronts Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG, along with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game can be wishlisted, but the date remains open. That is an important distinction after a busy showcase: this was a deeper look at the game, not a launch announcement.
For returning players, the most personal question is what six years of war have done to Raji and her brother. For everyone else, the immediate appeal is simple: two siblings facing the same impossible fight with completely different tools.
