The Pokémon GO Worlds 2026 celebration runs in two connected phases from August 25 through August 30. PokémonXP begins first, and the World Championships phase follows on August 28 with different wild encounters, featured attacks, raids, GO Battle League bonuses, and livestream rewards.
The event is more useful than a normal spawn rotation because several rewards require preparation. Players can evolve Pokémon for older exclusive moves, play up to 15 GO Battle League sets per day during Worlds, collect two costumed Pikachu, and watch the official streams for Timed Research and an avatar code.

Pokémon GO Worlds 2026 event dates and times
- PokémonXP phase: Tuesday, August 25 at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- World Championships phase: Friday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 30 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
- Worlds broadcast: August 28–30, beginning at 9:00 a.m. PDT each day.
- GO Pass rewards expire: Tuesday, September 1 at 7:59 p.m. local time.
The in-game event uses local time, so the start and end follow the clock where you play. The broadcast uses Pacific Time because the competition takes place in San Francisco.
What to do before the event starts
Prepare storage space, save enough Candy for the evolutions you care about, and mark the official Twitch channels before August 25. The featured-move window is broad, but a rushed storage cleanup on the final day makes it easy to evolve the wrong Pokémon or miss a stream reward.
- Tag evolution candidates now: Beldum, Totodile, Froakie, Sobble, Mankey, Deino, and the other featured families.
- Keep a few open raid slots: both phases add limited one-star raid encounters.
- Check your GO Battle League teams: the event expands daily sets and changes reward encounter IV floors.
- Confirm Twitch access: several rewards require watch time rather than normal in-game tasks.
PokémonXP phase spawns and raids
The first phase runs from August 25 at 10:00 a.m. until August 28 at 10:00 a.m. local time. It focuses on the PokémonXP celebration and the Cosmog-themed Pikachu.
PokémonXP wild encounters
Ralts, Numel, Spheal, Drifloon, Elgyem, Sobble, and Pawmi appear more often in the wild. Deino is listed as the rarer encounter. Every Pokémon on the official list can be Shiny if its Shiny form is available during the event.
Ralts and Deino are useful Candy targets because their final evolutions receive featured attacks during the Worlds phase. Sobble also matters if you want an Inteleon with Hydro Cannon. Catching early gives you time to compare IVs before evolving.
PokémonXP raids
One-star raids feature Pikachu wearing a Cosmog-themed spacesuit and Impidimp. The costumed Pikachu can be Shiny. The same Pikachu remains in raids during the Worlds phase, so missing it on the first day does not end the opportunity.

World Championships phase spawns and raids
At 10:00 a.m. local time on August 28, the wild pool changes. Alolan Sandshrew, Mankey, Lickitung, Totodile, Wooper, Foongus, Froakie, and Litten become the main encounters. Togetic and Beldum are the less common possibilities.
This pool is built around Great League options and featured evolutions. Mankey can become Primeape or Annihilape with Rage Fist. Totodile, Froakie, and Litten lead to final evolutions with Community Day attacks. Beldum leads to Metagross with Meteor Mash.
World Championships raids
The one-star raid pool changes to Pikachu wearing a Cosmog-themed spacesuit, World Championships 2026 Pikachu, and Honedge. Both costumed Pikachu can be Shiny. Honedge is also listed with a possible Shiny encounter.
Field Research can reward event-themed encounters, but the official announcement does not list the task names or the full encounter table. Check the binoculars menu after the event begins instead of deleting tasks based on an unconfirmed list.
Every featured attack during Pokémon GO Worlds 2026
Certain Pokémon caught or evolved during the event receive their featured attacks. The official list is long, so tag the exact Pokémon you want before the window opens.

- Feraligatr, Greninja, and Inteleon: Hydro Cannon.

An Elite TM is normally required to add many of these attacks outside their event windows. Use the free evolution opportunity on Pokémon you already planned to build, but do not spend Candy only because a move is limited. IVs, league limits, and your current team still matter.
How the 15 daily GO Battle League sets work
During the World Championships phase, the daily maximum increases from five sets to 15 sets. That creates up to 75 battles across five days if you use every set. The reward encounters also receive a wider spread of Attack, Defense, and HP values.
A wider IV range can be useful for Great League players because low Attack and higher Defense or HP can fit more total stats under a CP limit. It does not guarantee a strong PvP spread, and it does not make every reward encounter better.
