Mera x Death begins airing in Japan on January 5, 2027. The new Monster Strike anime revealed its first trailer, key art and character images on September 27. TOKYO MX is among the planned Japanese stations. Streaming is planned too, but no service has been named.
What is Mera x Death about?
The story takes place in Ouma, a town where a huge explosion happened six years earlier without killing anyone. A mysterious sphere called the Glass Sun now floats over it. Mera Kagari is a quiet teenager who feels out of place there. On his sixteenth birthday, he meets a girl called Thirteen, and unusual events begin around the town.
The trailer shows Mera, Thirteen and the town beneath the Glass Sun. It does not reveal what caused the explosion six years ago or why Thirteen has appeared. Those questions are at the center of the story.

Mera lives at a restaurant on the Tomisaka shopping street. He tends to think the worst but cares about other people. Thirteen is a mysterious girl who likes spicy food. Soon after they meet, strange things start happening in town.
Mera has dark hair and wears a school jacket over a hoodie. Thirteen has pale hair and a green coat with a pink collar. Their voice actors have not been announced yet.
Who is making the anime?
MIXI produces the anime based on Monster Strike. Kenta Kushitani directs, Daisuke Daito writes the series scripts, and Tadashi Sakazaki designs the characters. Qzil.la and studio keel handle the animation. Masaru Yokoyama, Kana Hashiguchi and Natsuki Hamada are credited for the music.
