Now That We Draw is coming to Japanese television in January 2027. The anime’s official site has released its first full promotional video and new character art for Yuki Uehara and Niina Miyamoto. An exact premiere day and international streaming service have not been announced.
Yuki is a high school student who wants to draw manga. He takes a romantic-comedy story to an editor, but is told the romance does not feel real. He is ready to give up when Niina, a classmate who seems much more outgoing than him, finds the manuscript. She wants to make manga too.
Why do Yuki and Niina start dating?
Niina suggests a fake relationship so they can learn what dating feels like and use it in their work. That is the story’s starting point. The official trailer shows them together at school and during more private moments, while the new art puts both leads side by side.
The video also gives viewers a look at the contrast between the two leads. Yuki appears more reserved; Niina speaks and moves with much more confidence. Who voices the main characters?
Ayumu Murase voices Yuki Uehara. Sayumi Suzushiro voices Niina Miyamoto. On the official character page, Yuki is described as shy but deeply committed to the things he likes. Niina is an energetic classmate who is also working toward a manga career. Her idea is what brings the two together.
Shunsuke Ishikawa directs the series. Deko Akao handles the scripts, Hiromi Nakagawa designs the characters, and ROLL2 is the animation studio. The anime adapts the manga written by Kyu Takahata and illustrated by Yuwji Kaba.
