Aoki Densho: Welsh & Shedar has a new main trailer ahead of its October 2 start in Japan. The video brings its two young leads together and gives a clearer look at the fight over the Dofus, powerful objects that the queen Zabel wants to control.
Welsh is a 16-year-old who grew up cooking in Broccoli Village. Shedar is the same age but has been raised as the prince of Bonta, one of the continent’s major kingdoms. Their lives are very different. The story begins to change when the two meet and Welsh is pulled away from the quiet home he shares with his adoptive mother.
What is in the new trailer?
The trailer starts with Welsh’s life around food and family, then moves to Shedar, dragons and the danger around the Dofus. It also shows Zabel, Shedar’s mother, as a major opponent. She already holds five of the six Dofus, according to the official character description, which explains why the other characters fear what she might do with more power.
Rikuya Yasuda voices Welsh and Yuki Kaji voices Shedar. The newly announced cast includes Yuko Kaida as Queen Zabel, Makoto Furukawa as Joris and Risa Kageyama as Béchamel. Joris is an experienced guide who helps Welsh begin his journey. Béchamel is Welsh’s childhood friend and joins the group.
The new cast gives the conflict more shape
Zabel’s position makes Shedar’s choices harder: the person he has been raised to support is also tied to the threat facing Welsh. Joris brings experience that Welsh does not have, while Béchamel gives him a friend from home. The official site lists those characters and actors, so these are confirmed roles rather than guesses from a short trailer.

Naoki Horiuchi directs, and Studio MASSKET handles the animation. The project draws on the French fantasy world of Dofus while making a Japanese TV anime. The trailer and official site show the fantasy setting, but they do not give a full episode count or an international streaming plan.
The official site also says new episodes are scheduled for Friday nights. Viewers outside Japan should wait for a confirmed regional announcement before assuming the show will appear on their usual anime service.
